Short review: This place, the food, and the people who work there are fantastic. Highly recommend.
Update 2/5/2023: Review is still accurate. They’re one of the few places that survived Covid but not by cutting portions or raising prices ridiculously.
Food: Fresh and delicious. Consistent quality and portions. Service: They recognize us now, and are truly kind to us. Looking back, even when we were new - they treated us the same way. Time to Table: They're speedy. Seems like most of their business comes from takeout/delivery services. So, if you want to eat more quickly, dine in. You won't regret it. Facility: Clean. Usually decorated for major holidays. Lovely illustrations on the walls. It has its own unique character. The music can be kind of loud, but if you ask nicely - they'll turn it down a bit.
Price: I feel that the prices are incredibly fair for both quality and quantity.
Dishes we like:
Hummus: Truly the best we've ever had. Having traveled overseas, we feel it's authentic. Fattoush Salad: Delicious and fresh. (You can get chicken on it - I recommend it.) Handmade pita chips: They don't always have them, but they're amazing. Ask. Garlic Dip: As a Polish girl, I love garlic. The dip is great. I put it on everything. I even get some to go, and dip some chicken nuggets from the airfryer in it. My Favorite Dish: Chicken Shawarma Dinner. The toasted almonds in the rice add such a lovely richness to the meal. They have pickled veggies (pink pickled veggies) and actual pickles that come with the meal. I love their pickles, and usually ask for extra. If you don't specify, sometimes they'll give you the pink instead. The chicken is always moist, but has this lovely bark on it from the grill. His favorite dish: Lamb Shish-tawook Sandwich. It's giant, and it's only like $5. They also have a chicken shawarma sandwich for the same price. Worth it.
Suggestions: None. This place is perfect. Please try it, and be kind to the staff....
Read moreNo ambiance. No music. Both waitresses said they couldn't turn the music on at first!! It took them 10 minutes to do it. But the volume was very low. They were adamant the owner, Mahmoud, had told them they couldn't increase it even if someone asked!! Wow!! Wow!! They refused to call the owner at first to get his permission and told me he wouldn't allow it!! These people are so backwarded. Really?!! They said some guests have actually walked out in the past because of the volume being high. But the volume was very low, and they still wouldn't raise it. In a restaurant in the U.S.? They are obviously either lying or just don't understand they're in hospitality business. You do what the 'guest' asks within reason. Then the hummus was extremely salty. I sent it back, but the younger waitress said I had to pay for it or at least pay half of it!! Wow!! Wow!! How incredibly insulting. The other waitress, Didi, removed the charge. Thanks for that. The fatoosh salad and baba ganoosh were very good. They never came to ask if the food was good after serving it. Overall very poor service. These people don't understand restaurants are not in business to sell food; they are in business to sell "experience." I hope review teaches them just that. Consumers and guests vote with thei pockets! Count me out for a...
Read moreStopped in with my mother for lunch. When we entered, there was no one in sight. It took several minutes before someone came out from the back. I took a couple menus from another table. We were surprised to see the meals were all $20 or more. We were going to leave until we seen the lunch options which were $11.99 and up. The sandwiches were less. I ordered the chicken kabob with fries and cup of lamb vegetable soup. The soup was inedible. It had two tiny pieces of meat in it and frozen mixed vegetables. Very cheaply made. I literally couldn't eat it because it was so sour. I told the waitress it had too much lemon juice or vinegar in it. She said it didn't have either of those ingredients. I requested the lentil soup. It was very bland and also had too much lemon, but I made the best of it by adding some pita chips to it. The chicken kabob also had too much lemon and I don't know if the cook was being vindictive, but he also put a big pile of pickle slices on my plate. My mother had the lamb kabob and her plate had grilled and raw onions. The fries were dry and tasted like they were baked. Needless to say, we will not be returning. If you like sour or bland food, this...
