It was decorated nicely, but there were issues with both my rehearsal dinner and the wedding itself. For the rehearsal dinner my mother in law got the regular bar, and they were arguing with her that she had picked the cash bar until they finally decided to look at the reservation form that said that it was an open bar. For my wedding we had the premium bar and for most of it they were trying to serve us well drinks. They said that we needed to ask for the premium alcohol we had purchased or we would be getting well drinks, we had asked for both bud light and labbats beer and they only wanted to serve the bud light until my mom complained. Then they decided to serve the Labbats which was bottles because they didn't get kegged Labbats. They also ran out of beer during the reception and had to run out and get more. We had told them since the beginning that the cake is to wrapped up in napkins that we provided and once again they acted like that was news to them. (they also had that written in there notes). We had guests saying to us that the older waitress/barmaid was extremely rude. If it wasn't for my mom keeping track of everything they would have gotten away with trying to rip us off even more than they did. If you get the premium bar just so you know they think that 3 bottles of absolute counts as enough for the...
Read moreI recently attended a wedding at this venue and wanted to share my objective feedback for those considering renting this space for special events.
Decoration: While pretty, the decor appeared to be low-quality.
Food: Unfortunately, the food was subpar. I opted not to eat due to concerns about food poisoning. The chicken was severely undercooked, and the mother of the groom even warned our table not to consume it. This reinforced my suspicions.
Bathrooms: The men's bathroom was reportedly worse than an outhouse, with a strong, unpleasant odor and apparent lack of cleaning. The women's bathroom was not clean, but didn't have a significant odor.
Music: Many guests complained about the DJ's inconsistent playback and poor song transitions, often cutting off songs mid-play.
Parking: One positive aspect was the ample parking available.
Suggestion for improvement: Designate a smoking area to prevent guests from being enveloped in cigarette and weed smoke when exiting the building.
Please note that this review focuses solely on the venue's facilities and services, not the wedding...
Read moreWe really did enjoy the scene at the Joy Manor! We went there for dinner and to listen to a band. (We did NOT go to the actual Joy Manor that is like a banquet hall. We went into a separate building, which I think is referred to as Downstairs at the Joy Manor). The music was good and so was the food! The only issue I had, and hence 4 stars, is they don't give you a lot to eat. I was only eating the beef and asked for extra as I wasn't eating the chicken or a potato side dish and they were a bit stingy on the amount. But I do get it! Maybe if I accepted all the food options, I would have had a full plate :) But, for like 10 bucks, I will do it again! And the meal includes unlimited coffee, water, and pop! Oh, and a little desert to boot! The place is well laid out and the dance floor is nice! We will definitely going again! A couple other things: most of the people were an older crowd and a big plus for me is this: they serve dinner from 6-7 PM and at 7 the party/band starts! So, you can make it an...
