H Mart Westminster Grand Opening Review ๏ผAug 7, 2025๏ผ
After nearly two years of waiting, H Martโs new Westminster location on Beach Blvd finally opened today and it was BUSY.
Traffic around the plaza was already pretty bad in the afternoon, and the closer you got, the more packed it became. Parking lot entrance was jammed, and H Mart had a line starting from Daiso just to get in. Once you made it near the doors, staff assigned carts one-by-one before letting people enter, definitely a crowd control move.
This location is huge. I saw so many items that I used to only find on Weee!, now available in this Store. A friend from Garden Grove mentioned that this new store carries lots of products their local H Mart doesnโt even stock.
Lots of grand opening deals going on right now, and honestly, it was hard to resist. My husband warned me not to go overboard, but when you see high-quality produce at great pricesโฆ yeah, I gave in.
Some highlights I found today: โข Haidilao Hot Pot Set (with mini pot) โ $20.99 (Limit 2 per person) โข Giant watermelons โ $3.99 each (cheaper than Costco!) โข Organic strawberries (2lb pack) โ $4.99 โข Dragon fruit โ $1.79/lb โข Lychee โ $1.99/lb โข Tong Ho โ $1.99/lb โข Green onions โ 7 bunches for $0.99
The food court is super clean, and thereโs an Artbox right by the checkout area and yes, they take cards even for purchase under $10!
As someone who lived in Korea for over a decade, this place actually gave me a little E-Mart nostalgia. I can already tell this is going to become my go-to Korean grocery stop for a while.
๐๏ธ Grand opening runs from Aug 7โ10 โ both new and existing members get a free shopping bag, and there are tiered gifts for minimum purchases. If youโre in the area, definitely worth checking out!
(Sorry, Target next door and Shun Fat nearbyโฆ youโve got serious competition now.)

ย ย ย Read moreWent Monday night after the grand opening a few days before and the place was still packed with people after 8:30pm, as they still had new store promotions, which end on various dates in August 2025. H Mart not only stocks Korean products but has Chinese, Taiwanese, and Japanese products and you can tell they are also catering to the local Vietnamese population with the various fruits, I donโt always see at an average H Mart, e.g. jackfruit, durian flavored items, and they had multiple variety of bananas (red, Thai, baby etc.) The food court section was already closed when I got to that section so Iโll have to go back. I believe the makeup section is in the front but I ran out of time.
I found out the hard way that the shopping carts wheels lock as you approach the Daiso area of parking (where I had parked) as I was wondering why my cart all of a sudden stopped. So apparently you can only take your carts only so far in the parking lot, as I was wondering how I was going to move my cart back since it was now in the middle of the parking lot, I quickly walked my bags to my car and my cart was now empty. Saw another patron run into the same issue and he was savvy, since his cart was now empty he rolled it on the back wheels and so the front wheels were in the air and that did the trick to be able to move the cart. H Mart should have some signage or coloring so patrons know where the carts all of a...
ย ย ย Read moreThe first impression of this new H Mart is the size and amount of goods inside. The interior is bright and spacious, but it can feel small when there are crowds of people shopping.
My first visit was browsing the aisles and picking up a few items. If you've ever been in an H Mart or Asian grocery before, you know what to expect, but at a grander scale. IYKYK. Whatever you need to prepare all kinds of dishes, grab snacks, drinks, and more. This location will likely have it, or you will discover something new. Prices are decent for most items, but you can't beat the selection in one store.
There were plenty of staff stocking items, helping customers, and cashiers to get people on their way.
The food court offers plenty of options and a clean dining area. Most of the restaurants serve Korean and Asian cuisine, as well as offer cafes and toy vending machines.
Home and personal goods are available.
Plenty of free parking as well, but it can be a little stressful during peak shopping hours.
Fun features include opportunities to claim gifts with purchase and/or win prizes through raffles, food sampling, special item deals, and more.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I enjoyed looking at all the items to try for next time. I see why this is a very busy spot. It's wise to get there early or shop during...
