I had been testing with other stores like Macy and I knew what I wanted except my wanted to keep my budget low so I thought maybe I can get a better deal there since I see them on TV all the time. I went in and tested a few and found the one I like. when the sales person came I told him what I wanted but he insisted that they had a computer that could tell exactly what is good for me. (Never, ever fall into that trap). I went on the computer, he told me the one I picked would not work for me because he said "The computer is scientifically programmed to tell what would be best for you and if you don't like it, we will take it back". When I heard that, I thought there is no way I could lose so I asked him to give me his advice. when he gave me his advice, that mattress cost 3 times higher. I resisted to spend that much money on a mattress but since he said they guarantee for 90 days money back there is no way I could lose so I went with it. After a week of use, it was not comfortable so I called up the sales person. He told me "sometimes it takes time for you to get use to it". We suggest that you try out for at least 4 weeks. I said: "ok" and I tried but by 2 weeks, after I get up from the bed, I could see that the bed sunk in on the place I slept. I called him back and I told him I didn't want that mattress and want to exercise my right for exchange. I paid $1600 for it. He said he would call someone to take care of it for me. I waited and I called. He said they were busy and someone would call me back. I went out of the country and returned and then I called again. This time he said he had to send in "an independent evaluator" from a third party. I didn't know what that was for, I thought if it didn't work for me I just get the one I really tried the first time which was 3 times less money but anyway I went along with it. so the 3rd party showed up did some measurement took some pictures and left without telling me what he found. no one called me back. After few weeks I decided to call the sales person. He said the 3rd party found no problem with the bed and could not exchange for me. I called the corp office and they said the same thing. I went to other store and bought something else and left the mattress in another room. Well, I am luck that I can afford to spend $1600 and leave it in the guest room. My posting is not to degrade this business. I am just telling you the experience so if you can't afford to buy a mattress thinking they will exchange for you if you don't like it, you have to read all the fine prints. I tried to resolve with the Corp but not much luck. I am sure the Owner is a good person and he most likely didn't get to hear my story. If he did, I am sure he will appreciate that comments like this will help him improve his business, unless they just want to pull a fast one on people. Good luck to you all in shopping of...
Read moreI spent the last couple days online shopping for mattresses for President's day weekend.Every business online were selling the mattress that I was looking for at the same price. Everybody pretty much was offering the same price but I wanted to support local businesses. I didn't want to buy online. People need to realize nowadays you got to support local businesses because before you know it the places that we liked to frequent may not be around down the road. the mattress industry is just like the TV industry pretty much everybody selling at the same price. reason why is disk is smaller store like Mom and Pop stores the chance to be able to stay in business when everybody's pretty much selling at the same price. so go ahead and support local businesses if you got to pay $50 more so what you got to support these businesses because I don't want to buy everything offline. especially clothing stores you have to try on clothes you can't order everything online sometimes you have to check things out in person especially close before you buy them. I'm sick of tired of seeing businesses going out because support local businesses. now get out there and support local businesses and quit trying to buy everything online we need the stores around us. Honestly I'm sick of tired of seeing Amazon trucks UPS trucks and FedEx trucks driving around seven days a week especially where I live I see Amazon trucks in here seven days a week and it's getting...
Read moreCame in looking for a mattress, left with a story. After a high-tech body scan, I shared my budget and was met with, âWell youâre not going to find anything of quality in that price range.â Not exactly a confident or inspiring comment to begin this process with.
After laying on exactly 2 options, I said I liked the second option, but want to shop around.
Mind you, this store was my 1st stop!
In the salesman responded, âWell thatâs stupid, youâll waste more in gas.â
My dad clapped back, âGood thing sheâs not driving, I am.â
Salesman? Visibly annoyed. Me? Not buying anything.
Writing this from my new memory foam mattress I got the same day, from Mattress Firm in HB off Edinger.
It is comfy, affordable, and no attitude was included.
While I did not get the salesmanâs name, it goes to show this experience was not memorable.
As someone in real estate & leasing, myself, I was shocked he spoke to a client in that manner.
Hoping Sit & Sleepâs management learn can take my experience / review and he can adjust his approach. I truly hope he was just having...
