I had a Hysteroscopy and D&C 8/19/22. This facility is outstanding. The check in was easy. The receptionist was very fast and polite. They called me back within 5 minutes. The nurse who prepared me (I forgot her name, I'm sorry) very curly blond hair, super nice. She put in my IV on the first try. Very knowledgeable. I was surrounded by a lot of nurses and felt very safe. You are in a ward with other patients and you can hear the nurses carrying on conversations with the others making them feel relaxed and comfortable. My anesthesiologist came over and explained what he was going to do and asked me if I had any questions. Thank you Dr. Lee. In the billing Dept, Denise went way above giving me all the financial information I needed. Called me back on every question with an answer and let me know she was here for me. Amazing. My Nurse for the Surgery was Jeannette Santana, she came in and held my hand a few times asking if I was ok. She was outstanding. Very Knowledgeable. Megan Paco was my check out nurse. She gave me all of the instructions needed for my post op. Jennette visited me after the recovery also to check on me and say goodbye and wish me well. Megan made sure I had everything and that I felt well enough to leave. She took me out to our VW bus where my husband was waiting and wished me well. And of course, Thank you so much to my wonderful Doctor Morris Ahdoot. I am so happy to have you. Thank you so much to all of the staff at Barranca Surgery Center. You are all amazing ....

This facility only allowed me to check in my family member. I was told I could not stay in the waiting room. I was informed that they had waiting areas outside in the lobby of the building and outside the building. This was NOT true. There is no where to wait on the property and I ended up waiting in my car.
The really tough part is that if you love your family member you know that they want and need the emotional support people with them before and after their procedure. If you want to facility that provides that quality emotional care shop elsewhere. The surgery center is structured like an auto repair shop where you have to drop your loved one off the counter and then picked him up in a wheelchair at the back door later. Covid has brought the worst of humanity out of some businesses. The business of medical care has clearly messed on the point of emotional and mental care.
As of 7-1-22 they have a mask mandate. Seems reasonable as a surgery center Although they seem to not be following the science. Just lame mask mandate. I observed their staff Cross contaminating just about everything they touch including their own face masks. I personally would prefer them to just be breathing out germs and to be touching a petri dish of germs on their face.
This review is as a family member and not a Patient. I will also have my family member write a review on her experience to provide a fair and...

Cons: Way finding to get in was confusing at best. Not sure we were walking into the operating room or the lobby when we push the big doors open . Thankfully, it wasn't the operating room .
The receptionist/ cashier at the front desk barely acknowledged us. Her head was down typing as she asked for our name and told us to sign in and hand her a driver's license and insurance card. You will get a better greeting at your local grocery store. Once you get past that, you'll be asked for your credit card, have 20 sheets of paper pushed in your face, told to review it, sign in three places, and check your date of birth. You'll then be told to sit down and wait for someone to call you.
There's not enough room for 3rd parties to wait in the "waiting room." You will be told to leave. Once outside, you'll quickly realize they've removed all exterior seating areas from the premises, so sitting in your car is your best option. Nice touch. Good grief - who does that?
