IF YOU ORDER SOMETHING FROM THIS COMPANY, DON'T COUNT ON THEM.
So very disappointed!! I have gone to Velvet Cream for years and always had a great experience, NOT today. I ordered 40 popcorn balls two days ago. They told me they would be ready this morning. I live in Harrisonville Missouri and drove an hour to pick them up at 3:30 in the afternoon, only to be told the order was not ready. They informed me it would be ready tomorrow. They said that they had employees that were sick and did not get it filled. I totally understand that. They also said they have been extremely busy. I understand that too. Here is my issue. Knowing I drove that far they would not ship them to me. They said I could pay for them to be shipped. The other issue is all of this would have been avoided had they called and told me earlier today. Also, I think it was one of the owners that I dealt with. And to top it off, my brother (who the popcorn balls were for) paid for the popcorn balls while waiting for them to get them from the back room, so they refunded him for the balls. When we went to leave they called me back to the counter in front of all the customers in-line to ask if I had paid for my popcorn I had in my hand. It told them 'yes, I paid for it." They then responded, “It wasn’t purchased with the popcorn balls? "Great to be treated and questioned like a thief in front of everyone for a $9.00 bag of popcorn. We never yelled, cussed or treated them badly during this whole interaction. The two ladies we dealt with were extremely defensive and had no sympathy or compassion for our situation. It was all about how they have had a hard time. Very...
Read moreUPDATE!! - I am updating my review due to new developments. After not hearing anything back from CS Rep for days after the last email, I received an email from President of the company, apologizing for the issue and informing me that they order would be sent to the correct address. This makes me happy as I do love their popcorn.. the stuff is addictive as hell! The only reason it's at 4 stars and not 5 is because of the steps I had to go through to get my order.
-Original Review- I used to love getting popcorn from here at the holidays. The key word here is "used to".I placed an order on Dec 1st to refill our tin for the holidays. When I logged in, it showed my shipping and billing addresses in bold letters, and they were correct. However, when I tried to track the order, there was no information, so I contacted them to see what I could find out. It turns out my order was sent to an old address (like haven't lived there in 8+ years).. an address I did not select when placing my order. So, again, I contact customer service, and the answer I basically got was ' so sad, too bad... update your address book and this won't happen again'. Really?! This is how they respond to a long time customer who did NOT receive what they paid for. I will not support a business that treats customers with little regard .. customers that make a choice to spend their money with them. That's a privilege that is earned by building a solid reputation, and sad to say, that this companies reputation is...
Read moreBest in KC? I think all that BBQ has short circuited their taste buds. My company sent me a tin of popcorn. I've never had worse caramel corn. There's almost no caramel. Is this stuff geared toward housewives who think this is a lower calorie version of the real thing? You couldn't sell this at any other retail outlet but your own because the customer would look at yours, then look at the competition which is smothered in caramel and leave yours sitting there. When I first tried it, I was watching TV in a dimly lighted room and I honestly thought the cheese corn was just plain buttered popcorn until I took it in the kitchen and saw it was orange. I mean, haven't you ever been to a KarmelKorn in your local mall growing up? That's how you do flavored popcorn. And then there was the cinnamon. I couldn't tell what it was supposed to be but it tasted like what I'd expect industrial cleaner to taste like. So basically you put very little ingredients in your popcorn but call it gourmet and charge more. Less ingredients, more costly. Nice racket you've got there. Next year, I'll let my company know they don't need to waste their money buying me one of these tins. But this year's flavorless popcorn tin is going in...
