Westwood Park — Attraction in Kansas City

Great little park. Ton's of fun for all (adults, friends, relatives, kids, gatherings, dogs ...). Very cute park. Lot's of cement pathway, with handicap accessibility - though not exactly designed well, the effort was made. Prior to COVID-19 they had a 'portapotty', I'm sure it will return.

There's two different shelters, one has a nice size fire pit with grate and the other has a standing grill. There's a fun little kids section with slide, gym, swings .... Fun place.

I will say, in the late afternoon, there are a few dog owners who feel it's their and their dog's rights to ignore the law and 'run off leash', while I say that glibly here, just be warned and if you're not comfortable with that stay clear in the late afternoon - don't let their challenge of authority scare you off. I try to ignore, and for the most part haven't had issues with them, only a few have miss judged their abilities to control their four legged friends. No bites/no trauma I'm aware of.

For the most part, folks wear mask, though there are some who insist their individual rights not to wear mask out weigh the rights of the populace - we try to ignore and walk around.

There's no trash laying around, no arguing, no confrontation, no rudeness, no negativeness - this is a fun and lighthearted family park in quaint neighborhood bordering Kansas and Missouri, though the parking is wholly in Missouri. Have fun...

Very nice, Clean and Well maintained park. Idk about it being a dog park really. I mean yes people walk there dogs here and they have dog waste dispenser that are usually stocked but it's not fenced in. If I can't let my dog off leash to run around then it's not a dog park. What a great find! This little park is tucked into the neighborhood we just happened to stumble upon it. There is a nice little walking loop. Plenty of field space to run and play in. The playground is taylored to big and little children. A perfect place to picnic! There are grills there and a shelter.
