I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hokibar for the first time, and I am already eagerly anticipating my next visit. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was met with a warm and friendly staff who provided excellent service throughout my dining experience. It was evident that they took pride in their work and genuinely cared about ensuring a memorable visit for their customers.
One of the first things that struck me about Hokibar was the surprisingly extensive menu. There were so many options to choose from, and it was refreshing to see the variety available. In particular, my friend's decision to build their own bowl proved to be a fantastic choice, as the range of ingredients and toppings provided a truly personalized dining experience. The flexibility and creativity offered by the build-your-own option allowed for endless possibilities and ensured that each dish was tailored to individual preferences.
The food at Hokibar exceeded all expectations. Every bite was a testament to the freshness and quality of the ingredients used. The vibrant colors of the dishes were visually appealing, reflecting the care and attention to detail that went into their preparation. From the first taste to the last, every item we ordered and tried was exceptional, leaving a lasting impression and a craving for more.
An added bonus of dining in at Hokibar was the complimentary miso soup. This small gesture demonstrated their commitment to providing a complete and satisfying dining experience. The warm and flavorful miso soup complemented the main dishes perfectly and added an extra layer of satisfaction to the meal.
While the location of Hokibar may not be the most prominent, being tucked behind Jack Stack, it is a hidden gem worth seeking out. Despite any initial difficulties in finding the place, the food alone makes it well worth the effort. The sheer quality and taste of the dishes overshadow any inconvenience one may encounter. Hokibar's status as a small business further adds to its appeal, as supporting local establishments is always a rewarding experience.
In conclusion, Hokibar is a delightful dining destination that impressed me from start to finish. The friendly staff, extensive menu options, and the ability to create a personalized bowl made for an exceptional visit. The freshness and vibrant colors of the food showcased the culinary expertise and dedication to quality. The complimentary miso soup was a thoughtful touch that added to the overall satisfaction. While the location may pose a slight challenge, the outstanding food more than compensates for any inconvenience. Hokibar is not only an excellent choice for AAPI Month but a fantastic small business deserving of recognition. I highly recommend a visit to experience the culinary delights...
Read moreI ordered sushi once from here and it was not what I was expecting. It was tempura but usually it is more crispy or deep fried at other places. I decided to give it another chance this week by dining in. Sometimes I think sushi just isn’t great for carry out 🤷♀️ I walked in and it looked very clean and I liked you can order your food right away from a touchscreen (because I usually arrive starving lol). I got the sashimi mixed plate and the money bags. I have had sashimi in Japan but never here. They have a legit sushi bar and I loved the free miso soup from a machine (very Japanese honestly :))! I had some miso soup and water while I waited. The food came out very quickly. Money bags were great but the sashimi plate stole the show! It was so good and definitely filled my umami craving! I immediately knew I would be back, and regularly. So happy I gave this place another shot! Definitely worth the reviews. Their sashimi was perfectly sliced and tasted amazing as well as perfect texture. It was very quiet and only 1-2 other tables and some pickup orders. Great atmosphere for an introvert. I went by myself and it was a great experience. I ate everything accept a few money bags while I packed to go. I ate them later that night. Ready to go back...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try Hokibar while we were doing some Christmas shopping and looking at the plaza lights. This was on a Monday night. We arrived a little after 7 pm and there were only a couple other patrons dining in, which was very surprising. Several door dashers came and went while we were there, though. I had the Hoki bowl, my husband had the Kansas City bowl, and we shared a salmon lover's sushi roll. The staff was friendly, the service was fast, and the food was absolutely delicious. They were very reasonably priced and the bowl portions were generous. I got two meals out of my bowl. The restaurant sits on a far corner at the edge of the plaza, directly under a parking garage. We ended up parking in the garage after driving around for a few minutes trying to find street parking. This was one week before Christmas, though, so I don't know if that level of traffic was typical. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for something slightly off the main path in the plaza, but still very high quality, affordable...
