Firstly, I’m not going to tell anyone to not use this gentleman for business because I’m hoping this can be a learning opportunity for both of us honestly. For me to do better research and ask more questions and not jump into things blindly and him to work on mostly his communication skills.
My daughter’s iPad needed a new battery and charging port. I called around to multiple places and one place who gave me Ricks name and workplace. I figured since this recommendation was coming from a reputable business I could trust them. Word of advice, don’t just take someone’s advice at face value and run with it. It might bite you in the end. Anyways, I contacted Rick who was very quick to reach out to me and we talked and I got all the info I was looking for and told him I’d drop the tablet off at some point. That was back in January when I initially contacted him. Life happened and I didn’t get a chance to do anything with the tablet till this month. I dropped it off (June 2) in what I thought was his drop box but was not but he assured me that it was ok and he’d get the owner of the building to grab it and get it to him which they did. Once in his possession unsure what day exactly he got it, which I had to message him to find out if he received it (that’s a common theme), I would be the one to make pretty much all of the reaching out and communication to try and find out what was going on. I didn’t get confirmation of him receiving the tablet until 2 days later. My daughter had an uneasy feeling so that’s when I decided to look at the reviews. That’s when I realized I definitely should have done better research and asked more questions. Now I’m a very understanding and empathetic person and understand things come up and you’re not always able to message people back in the moment, but we’re talking 48 hours before getting responses. To me, that’s not very good customer service. Now he does have an office but from what we gathered from talking to other people, he isn’t really ever there except to pick items up. So meeting face to face is not something that happens often from what we heard. So after a week and a half of feeling like we were being blown off in a way, he messaged saying that one of the parts was delayed (understandable) but we would probably come pick up on that Wednesday. (This conversation happened on a Monday.) So I said ok, we’ll pick up on Wednesday. Fast forward to Wednesday and I messaged in the morning asking what time we could come pick up the tablet. No response. 1:30 rolls around and my husband and I decided to just head to the office and pick it up. I should’ve known that he wouldn’t be there when we pulled up bc the office was closed. Now I’m really starting to feel like we’re being taken advantage of and possibly the tablet has been stolen at this point. So much so that when I messaged Rick and requested the tablet back I was going to tell him that if we didn’t have it back by end of day the following day or hear from him by then, we’d involve police. I’m glad it didn’t get to that point, but the whole situation was just insane to me and we just wanted the tablet back. He did message back pretty quickly and said we could pick it up the next morning. So we agreed to that. The next morning rolls around and I received a text from Rick saying the tablet was in the drop box and he left a key in a key box for us to get it out. No face to face. My husband did go get the tablet and it’s now back in our possession. But over a week and a half, we didn’t receive much of any updates or information about when the tablet would be done or when we would be able to pick up. All communication was initiated by me. So with all that being said, if you do use Rick, make sure you ask all the questions and get as much info as you can. And prepare for your device to be gone for a while. After reading the one review about the device being gone for months , I wasn’t letting that be us. Oh and also, the number to cool tech pros goes straight to vm. You’ll never talk to anyone on the phone. Do...
Read moreSo I called Richard @ Cool Tech Repair to fix my new iPad that had a lovely shattered screen from when it slipped out of my hand. Little did he know the reason I needed my "new" iPad fixed was because my "old" iPad had the same issue-but no worries, I watched a YouTube video, saw how to fix it, watched it a few times to know what to do-followed instructions to the letter and then the nice guy in the video says "make sure if you didn't get a screen with a button you don't pull out the wires for the button"......UGH!!!!!! So I had an extra surprise for Richard when he came to visit me---and he fixed both iPads in the time he said for less then a 3rd iPad would have cost me!!!!! He is the BEST!!!!! If I could have rated him more than 5 stars I would have!!!! Thanks again Richard!!!!!...
Read moreRichard was AMAZING. I dropped my iphone Monday night around 9:30pm. This was the first time I had ever cracked my screen, plus my phone is also a work phone, so I knew I needed it for work the next day. The phone screen was severely cracked all over the place, it wasn't really usable unless you wanted to risk cutting up your fingers. I reached out to Cool Tech Repair around 9:45pm, and had an appointment secured within the hour. Richard came over to my home at 7:30am the very next day, and had my phone ready to go for work before 8am! This is amazing as all the other options I looked at (Best Buy, Apple) are more expensive, more time consuming, and less convenient. It's very rare to find an option that saves you on money, time, and convenience. I'm...
