I'm very disappointed in their meat department.
Last week they had a buy one get one free offer on 'pork roast' which I purchased to cook for Mother's Day tomorrow.
I thaw them out this afternoon to start marinating them, only to discover that they look far more like ribs rather than any pork roast I've ever seen.
I go back to the store and speak with an employee at the customer service stand who said "go back to the meat market and they would make it right."
I then spoke to the butcher who treated me like an idiot. In reality I know very little about the craft of butchery, so perhaps I am an idiot.
However I do know about customer service, and the way he spoke to me was not the way any customer deserves to be treated.
I showed him both the labels from the meat, and a photo of them. He explained that there are ribs on that piece of meat, and pork chops and that all together they make a roast.
It wasn't his words that offended me, but his tone and attitude. He was rude and demeaning to me as a customer.
In all my life I've never been treated this way at a grocery store. I've been a loyal customer at this specific location for ten years.
I will not be returning. Instead, I am going to take my business to the new Hy Vee. They are farther away but their motto is "Where there's a helpful smile down every aisle."
I seriously doubt I would have had the same experience there.
Please consider this review a good bye to...
Read moreJust got an ad in the mail advertising the "Best Sushi in Town!" Are they serious? They must be the ONLY sushi in town, because I have tried their sushi and it is garbage. They have an excellent food photographer and the sushi they sell looks just like it does in the ad: Terrible! How dare you advertise sushi that is mostly rice and sesame seeds and have the nerve to call it "high quality"? What an absolute disgrace. If you want sushi, go to Maplewood and dine in at Great Moon Buffet--their sushi is fantastic and they have a much better selection. Festival Foods is overpriced and they do not offer sufficient quality to justify it. The abysmal sushi standards they push over snail mail is only one example of their shortcomings. Another red flag to consider is the fact that the sales they do advertise through snail mail require you to spend 25$ before you get the sale price, which really defeats the purpose of the sale for the customer. They earn a second star simply for not being filthy. If you have more money to spend than sense or taste, Festival Foods is probably a fine option for you. Otherwise, drive down the street and go to Aldi or try Cub the next town over. Don't...
Read moreThis is our local grocery store and the go-to given the location to our home. The smaller building size makes it incredibly easy to navigate, ensuring a quick and efficient shopping experience. Unlike larger supermarkets, finding items is a breeze, and I appreciate the convenience this brings to my grocery trips.
One of the standout aspects is the store's generous operating hours. It accommodates various schedules, making it convenient for shoppers with busy lifestyles. Whether you're an early riser or need to pick up essentials after work, the store has you covered.
However, it's worth noting that the prices are slightly higher compared to other grocery stores in the area. While this may be a drawback for budget-conscious shoppers, the trade-off is the ease of access and the time saved in a more compact space.
In summary, this local grocery store earns a solid 4-star rating for its accessibility, convenient hours, and straightforward layout. While the prices may be a tad higher, the overall experience makes it a reliable choice for those looking for efficiency in their...
