I've been shopping America family services since they were down on Eberhart road and the prices have always been cheap. I must be shopping with them and now on the MacArthur road for 10-15 years. I don't get were people say that they are expensive for a thrift store. Anyone that says that doesn't shop there. Holidays they have half off the whole store..Wednesday certain color tags buy one get 2 free..Sundays certain color tags are 50 cent. If any thing they are cheaper! You have to read their signs to know what they offer in prices.
WHAT YOU WANT THE ITEMS FOR FREE!!
I 've shopped all 3 of their stores again all are cheaper than salvation army and goodwill, goodwill doesn't even have good selection of items. Yes some of them can be not professional, they are working in thrift shop and have to deal with people like you! The employees have always been friendly and helpful. As anything you have to inspect the item before purchase. Anyone complaining about return policy should be glad there is one now . Up to 2 years ago there wasn't one. You buy the item and there was no returns. So don't complain about it. Salvation army and goodwill doesn't even have return policy. That makes American Family better them as well! Most of my cloths are from them and no one would even know it. Expect for underwear soxs, and white tshirts. You know what your buying electronics computers are a...
Read moreI have come here to shop and have donated here for years but I'm not sure I'll be back. What the other reviewers say about the rude manager who doesn't care about the customer is unfortunately true. Went the other day, saw a whole rack of slips for 1.99. One was perfect except somebody bunched it up and stapled the tag onto the material itself with a couple of staples. To inspect for a hole I carefully removed the staples and tag. The clerk explained she couldn't sell it to me because anything without a tag gets retagged and sold next day. I don't blame her. And she did say she was sorry which I did appreciate. She has to go with store policy, which is there so that nobody tries to get something cheaper than it is supposed to be. BUT the manager was standing right there and she COULD have done it but refused - even though I could not possibly be ripping anyone off because all the slips are the same price. She told me I should have asked an associate to remove the tag. I didn't know. It's a thrift store! I certainly would never do it again now that I know. Anyway, I told her I had shopped there and donated there for years and was buying a big order and why would you drive the customer nuts and make her come back tomorrow for 1.99? It was a waste of breath. She didn't...
Read moreThe managers there are extremely RUDE and very unprofessional. They seem to have gotten rid of their rude and/or personality-less employees as I've seen new ones in training. I've come to realize why they were so miserable.... I've had to deal with the managers. The things that I've personally had to deal with, and have heard while in there ,would have any other retailer in court. I also believe that the fact that that they force Christian music on us should be addressed. NOWHERE on the marquee does it say CHRISTIAN FAMILY THRIFT. I enjoy the idea of music but let's not forget to take into account that Not Everyone IS A CHRISTIAN!!!! Suggestion. A little more diversity in your selection or maybe just a soft...
