All but 1 or 2 places were open, meaning 1 or 2 businesses. This is why I think it got 1 star, and not 5. The location is "weird". It's located in a very busy intersection. Folks Like myself, HATE when I'm in a hurry, and guess what? You get stuck at the intersection of Baptiste and Grove, you'll be waiting until kingdom come!!!! Besides the location, there's no get-go attached with this location. The pharmacy does not have a drive thru window either. Nextly, it's got the cleanest public laundromat that I have ever seen! Market that. Folks might not even know it's there because no marketing to promote it. I'm sure that many a folk drive down to library rd. Anyway, promote. Promote yourself. You're there, but many do not. Take Sundays for an example. If you go between 10-3, you're mostly going to have a room of testosterone. None of the single women know this because there is no marketing. This laundromat is 1 of the most inexpensive joints that I've been to. Perhaps if someone were to come in and renovate (get some "newness ") in there, it could be the community's own little gem. The ONLY reason, that caste village isn't banging, is because there is no powerhouse behind the idea of what that entire area could look like. I know, who the hell is going to pay for such grandeur? Ultimately you in the end. So, are we beginning to see a light, a glimpse, a...
Read moreCaste Village has been a great place to shop or just look around. The area of different shoes, makes shopping so interesting. I grew up very close to Caste Village and I've seen it evoulve over the years, changing with the times... Walking under the covered walk ways makes it so nice (especially if it's raining or snowing). Best local Fireworks around the whole experience on fireworks night is the stores all offer something special, so it turns out to be all day/night affair, so much fun.! There's Armstrong's, the famous Armstrong's, Panera's, the Hallmark store, Rite-Aid, Dollar store, liquor store, Fridges (best fried chicken), a bank, a gas station, nail salon, office building, Post Office ( I think it's still there,?), coffee shop, dry cleaners, even a bowling alley. Plenty of parking ! Security guards, well protected by the Whitehall Police Department. I just love Cate Village, it has something for everyone.. missed...
Read moreEasy access and parking. There are multiple entrances along Grove Road and perpendicular roads so it is easy to pull in close to the stores you choose to visit. The parking lot is easy to navigate and the spaces are wide, which is a nice change from overly narrow spaces where large trucks take up two of them. Another nice feature is that the parking is close to the stores, so you don't have to walk a million miles to get to the actual store. Good handicap access and I noticed alot of people with walkers, rollrators, canes, etc. getting around easily. The center has a lot of different stores, but I stayed in one area as I was meeting up with someone and did not explore the rest. Very well maintained. There are a few buildings too, which makes it nice for options...
