This was a place I enjoyed coming to but no longer. I found out the hard way they do not give any support to you if you order an item from the website and have it delivered to the store for pickup. I didn't even need to buy it here, I bought it here because I wanted to help a smaller in-town business rather than go to Amazon. I don't think people should necessarily avoid this place, it's a local store that is closer than others and the owners are good people. These are just my reasons for no longer coming here.
The thing broke in the first 20 minutes... I called the store and the person who answered the phone told me to come down and they would initiate a return through their system and I could apply the money to another product there. I was happy with that as I could still spend my money there and I could get a better product.
I drove down there and when I arrived I was told that actually they cannot help me at all. I would need to contact the Do It Best website customer service. If this was the case then why did they tell me to drive down to get help?
I explained my position, that I really did not appreciate them asking me to come down if they cannot help as it wastes my time and gas money and it's really tough out there right now. All they would say is this was the bosses decision so it was final.
If they had just said no to the return initially over the phone that would have been that, no issue on my end. But asking me to come down to tell me no in person didn't feel great. My question on the phone was basically "what is your return policy, what can be done here?" I wasn't expecting a return and was delighted when you said it was possible, at first. That is why it hit so hard in this case.
I really do like this place but I will not ever be returning again which is a shame because I like the owners and people here. The one thing that can get me to not come back is not being willing to take accountability for what you tell customers. If you tell me to come down and you made a mistake, that is on you. You should fulfill what you tell people over the phone. I am very disappointed to be treated this way today. I thought this place was better.
The saddest part here is if I had just bought this at Walmart it would have been an easy return but instead I am now...
Read moreMike, Dylan and Danny at Country Do It Best Hardware were wonderful to work with and saved the day for me helping me out with picking me up and loaning me a tire pump on my cross country CANCER SUCKS Bike Tour traveling from Denver, Colorado, to Wisconsin. Unfortunately, I met up with an unsuspecting nail that found its way into my rear tire just outside of Wiggins, Colorado. My mini tire pump failed me miserably of which the great people at the Country Do It Best Hardware came to my rescue on the highway picking me up and then allowed me to use one of their full sized tire pumps to get me back on the road of which I pedaled like a madman to Bicycle Adventure in Fort Morgan before they closed and was able to buy a very nice Bontrager mini tire pump. Mike, at Do It Best, knew exactly which model pump would work with my Presta valves of which it filled my tire in a flash. Thank You All So Much for your Help, Kindness and...
Read moreWhile I still have grumblings about the prices at times, several recent visits have had much more reasonable prices and their customer service is just exceptional. Just needed to return something to Ace and went to location in Ft Morgan just to be refused help for not having a printed receipt from their location (ordered online)... these folks once easily helped me out exchanging tile grout I sheepishly had to admit I lost the receipt entirely to. Really is no substitute for great service like that after you experience poor...
