I love browsing the Williamsburg Antique Mall ... There are so many vendors with an incredible selection of antiques and vintage collectibles ... It's a large antique mall ... I take my time and spend hours there and still I never get to all the booths ... There is SO MUCH to see !!! Sis and I ALWAYS take time to eat at the VERANDA CAFE there ... Lovely ladies Cathy and Susan (sisters) offer a yummy casual lunch ... Soup and Sandwiches ... Of course desserts too ... Reasonably priced ... Sodas and hot drinks too ... My favorite is their Chicken Salad ... Sloppy Joe ... Maybe the BBQ ... ... ... I can't make up my mind ... The employees are helpful ... Huge Parking Lot ... Easy access .. If you know where Wal-Mart is on Rochambeau or Harris Teeter on Rte 60/ Richmond Road ... It's a 5 minute drive (and in between) from either location ... It's tucked behind a small strip mall right near all that (unnecessary overdevelopment!!!) new apartment complex going in where all that lovely wooded area was ... Devastating to see all the woods disappearing !!! Anyway ... Back to the Williamsburg Antique Mall ... There is an ENTRANCE door (left) and EXIT door (right) ... Baskets and carts for your convenience ... Little cards with pencils to use to mark what booth you saw item you liked ... Two bathrooms ... The CHECKOUT DESK is right at ENTRANCE ... When you are ready to buy something there is a machine you TAKE A NUMBER from and you will be called when it's your turn ...... if you go to the right of the CHECKOUT DESK you will see the VERANDA CAFE ... EVERYONE wears a MASK and it is REQUIRED ... Of course you can take mask off to eat ... The closest bathroom is just past the VERANDA CAFE on the right ... And YAY Men have their own toitoi next to the Women's ... Single occupancy ... Same for other set of bathrooms located in back of mall down one of the aisles PAST the 1st set of bathrooms ... HERITAGE HUMANE SOCIETY has a booth there ... It's the 1st booth I visit ... It is past the restrooms located on the LAST AISLE on the RIGHT ... It's marked and everything is DONATED to them and ALL PROFITS go to help the Heritage and the animals !!!!! You can DONATE ITEMS for the Heritage Humane Society too ... The CHECKOUT DESK can tell you how ... I have and I always ask for a receipt to make sure it goes to their booth ... If it's very valuable I suggest you contact the Heritage Humane Society FIRST ... Anyway ... The antique mall holds Car Shows and Other functions throughout the year in their huge parking lot ... Ask them about upcoming events ... So much has changed and put on hold until the virus under control ... Love the mall and the cafe !!! Wear a MASK...
Read moreHave been going here for many many years. Felt very unsafe this time. No masks required. So every isle I went down I encountered unmasked people, some sneezing and coughing. I backed up and went down another isle. But it was everywhere. I have cancer & my second Covid shot hadn't reached its 'safe' period. Still, there is the danger of virus strains not covered under the vaccine. I am going to die anyway but I'd like to stay alive longer than I would if exposed to a dangerous strain of Covid fr someone from another country. I didn't feel comfortable staying my usual 2-3 hours hunting in one of my favorite antiquing haunts. I left after 1/2 hr. So disappointed. Wearing masks, as irritating & uncomfortable as they can be, can be a matter of life or death for immunocompromised or high-risk people. I love this mall but beware. We know people are not wearing masks because they now CAN & not because they've honestly been vaccinated. It's a loophole people now use to get away with not doing what they never wanted to do in the first place. There's bound to be virus carriers, asymptomatic or actively ill Covid infected people among unmasked crowds. So, even if you have a mask on your nose & mouth, it can still enter through your eyes. Good Luck. And please, if you love God & care about your neighbor, keep wearing your mask - the right way - when indoors & in crowds of many people. No one should get sick or die for someone's selfish reasons. It's not enjoyable, but it could be lifesaving. Show respect & look out for...
Read moreOh! Another wonderful, leisurely stroll through the sweetest antique collection in the area! We visited on Saturday, July 14th, 2018. We had no idea that it was the Antique Mall's 21st anniversary. Both of us were given a raffle ticket and were told they would be calling numbers soon for door prizes. We were just starting our hunt for treasure when my number was called! Wow! We were told to go to booth G25. We were allowed to choose ANYTHING from the booth. What a surprise! We chose a sweet ladder back chair and quickly snuggled it into the back of our truck. We were so taken aback by such a generous gift. I truly hope the wonderful woman relayed my message of thanks to whoever blessed us like this. We then found a luscious little chiming German clock that is right at home. I'm attaching a picture of the chair we won along with a little lady I adopted from the Mall a few months ago. Yes. This is a sweet day trip across the James.
First, a beautiful ferry ride to cross the river. Then..... antique splendor! I always find a treasure. There are a few booths that aren't antique, although charming. But I'd rather they be filled with antiques. I can get "cutesy" country things and scented candles anywhere. On weekends they can really use more help. It takes quite awhile for someone to unlock your find. But it's worth the wait. :)...
