I had the pleasure of experiencing Alo Blow on their opening day. It was an incredible experience from start to finish. I was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm, setting the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic visit.
I booked the express head spa, and it was 45 minutes of pure bliss. Sydney was a true professional and made me feel comfortable from the moment I sat down. The scalp analysis she performed was cool to see - although I have a healthy normal scalp it was cool to see up close & personal what’s going on up there. The subsequent massage and head scratchies were beyond relaxing. The facial and neck massage added an unexpected touch of luxury to the whole experience. The deep cleanse with steam and the nourishing hair mask left my hair feeling rejuvenated and incredibly soft, not to mention smelling so good all week.
The ambiance of Alo Blow is nothing short of soothing. The sleek and simple design, with its white walls and floors, creates an environment that feels both modern and refreshing. The abundant natural light that streams in from the wall-to-floor windows adds to the soothing atmosphere. One of the unique aspects of the salon is its open floor concept, where blowouts and scalp treatments take place in the same area. While this might sound distracting, the thoughtful provision of earplugs and heated eye masks ensures that each guest can tailor their experience to their preference. Personally, I found it easy to drift off into a state of pure relaxation as Sydney skillfully worked her magic.
After the scalp treatment, I was moved to the blowout station, where Madi took over. She listened to my requests and delivered exactly what I had in mind: volume and curls that lasted all week. As I left, I felt genuinely invigorated.
I’m thrilled that more businesses are opening with a focus on holistic beauty/wellness. If you're looking for a place that caters to your hair and relaxation needs simultaneously, Alo Blow should be at the top of your list. Thank you to the incredible team for making my visit so memorable, I can’t...
Read moreA coworker raved about this spot and their headspas. They were so right. Treat yourself.
As a Black woman with locs, I was nervous. I wasn't sure if they'd be familiar with my hair texture or have the correct products, sooooo I had mine ready to go in my bag. You know, just in case. Meanwhile, there was nothing to worry about, bc they had it all covered. They even had black microfiber towels.
Don't bother wearing any jewelry and if it's possible to go strapless, do so.
First they do a scalp analysis. It's pretty cool, and gross, to see your scalp under the microscope.
The session starts with the shoulder, neck and face massage. That was wonderful. But the scalp massage... that was EVERYTHING! Alicia is so good at her job, professional and has great energy.
She did a clarifying treatment, a hair mask and a steam treatment. My hair is low porosity, so I was definitely looking forward to the steam. My hair was in a cap, so there was like a green house effect.
I did leave w my hair damp, so be cognizant about that. Luckily I had my hair turban in my bag. LOL.
If there was anything I would change, it would be to have a hooded dryer available just for like 15 minutes. Also, I should have thought to dampen my hair prior to the scalp massage. That would have made it less prone to breakage. She did use a generous amount of oil, so I don't think that was a problem.
Overall, still 5...
Read moreWent today for their love event and left pretty disappointed. Contacted them via instagram for an appointment for a tiny tattoo. They told me they were booked for appointments but had plenty of time for walk ins. When we got there it seemed very unorganized. The girl at the desk didn’t seem to have a clue what she was doing. She asked the artist if they could do a walk in and they said no. I asked if we could wait around or come back and she said she didn’t know. Actually asked two separate girls at the desk. Neither really knew what to say. Spoke to the artist and he was apologetic that they had no room for walk ins. Was disappointing because they advertised all over their instagram that they had plenty of time for walk ins. So?? I don’t think they communicated with the tattoo artists at all. Planned our whole day around this event. Left feeling really disappointed. The whole thing was just awkward and uncomfortable. The tattoo artists were super nice. Hopefully they coordinate their next event better although I would never waste...
