Beyond disappointed with my experience here this past weekend. Several weeks ago, I stopped into Wegmans and spoke with the bakery manager (who seemed very busy and uninterested) about placing an order for a dozen boxes of scones. She advised me to download the app and go on a few days before and place my order, which I did. I placed my order three days in advance and paid for it in full. This order of scones was for my daughter-in-laws themed tea party bridal shower. I received a text message from an employee from the bakery two hours prior to my pick up time advising that they did not have scones. I proceeded to have a phone call with this employee and explained to them my situation. Where was I supposed to find over a hundred scones in such a limited time frame? She placed me on hold and spoke to the bakery manager (Vanessa). She advised me the bakery manager would look in the back and call me in about a half hour. Two days later, I have yet to receive a phone call from anyone at Wegmans. The best part is that I also ordered flowers to be picked up. I arrived at Wegmans at 5pm (5 hours after being notified there were no scones) to pick up my flower order and I was absolutely floored to see boxes and boxes of scones for sale. This was so very sad to see. Additionally, my flowers that I paid in advance for were wilted and had brown spots. I was left with the task of finding flowers and scones at very last minute for my daughter in laws bridal shower. I am so very disappointed in the lack of customer service, quality of product and the fact that I saw scones there with my own eyes but was told there were none. I will absolutely never shop at a Wegmans...
Read moreI’ve never been treated with more disrespect or disregard than I was at this store. I was simply trying to complete an Instacart order when a man behind me in line began acting aggressively—invading my personal space, crowding the checkout, pacing, dumping his groceries on the belt before I was done, and standing at the payment terminal before my transaction was even complete.
I asked—calmly—for space. That was all. Instead of addressing the actual aggressor, store management sided with him, asked me to leave, and cost me both income and a customer’s order. I have autism. I rely on structure and personal space to function, especially under stress. I wasn’t loud, rude, or threatening—I just wanted to do my job.
To make matters worse, a Delaware State Trooper was already at the store and did not intervene because he saw I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I left when I was told to. I didn't cause a scene. But that didn't stop Wegmans from effectively blacklisting me from doing my job.
This store humiliated a disabled worker, cost me money, and never once attempted to de-escalate or even ask me what had happened. If you're neurodivergent, disabled, or just expect basic fairness from management—go elsewhere. Wegmans at Buckley Mill has shown they care more about avoiding discomfort than doing the right...
Read moreMy daughters and I shopped there. My daughters shopped for their homes and I grabbed a few items for mine. After walking through the store getting my items I noticed a State Trooper following us. At first I thought maybe I'm wrong but every where we went so did he. Then a female officer showed up I guess they thought we were shoplifting or gonna steal something. I asked my daughters who hadn't noticed to pay attention. They actually followed us until we checked out. I was highly offended my daughters spent between the two of them about $400, I spent about $100. I acknowledged that they were following us and that we had no reason to steal or did they assume we were gonna steal because we were black. I was highly offended I had enough money to pay for all of our groceries and the officers who took the time to watch us shop and checkout. My girls had their own money. Just because we purchased a lot of groceries and we were black doesn't mean we were stealing. I haven't stepped foot in there since that day. I refuse to spend my hard earned cash in a store that ASSUMES just because some customers have loaded carts they're stealing. I liked Wegmans but I cannot patronize an establishment that...
