Adorable boutique with quality, gently used garments, which allows for lower carbon impact shopping. One star is because I no longer have a tolerance for rude, classist behavior exhibited by the clerk / floor manager on duty and annoyed by my presence. I wish I could have brushed the encounter off as a generational attitude in order to purchase the red J crew jacket I went in to acquire (great price). Unfortunately, I also had the audacity to show up offering a pair of new, black Banana Republic slacks (tags intact, 6L) for consignment; I didn’t want money just a home for the slacks so they wouldn’t end up in landfill. She took one look at me and a passing glance at the slacks, declared “we deal in high-end attire” and walked away. Ouch! Ok, I didn’t want the slacks either. BUT I was there for ‘J Crew’ (a mid-range brand on a good day)….. and why not ask what else I could be helped with? Stumbled upon this cute consignment shop on a walk around downtown Winchester. I have shopped at the one in Belmont before and had a good experience. I walked in with my 4 year old. We were the only ones in the shop and there were two shop attendants. The one behind the register was friendly. The other looked at my child like she was a disease and then glared at me. I felt uncomfortable so grabbed a few items to try on. Ended up purchasing a cute dress and my daughter wandered around, not doing anything odd. Just being a child. The icy stare I got from the attendant made me feel very unwelcome, I regret actually spending money there and after seeing I wasn't the first one to have a rude shop attendant, they may want to rethink their staffing in order to not have...
