I’ve been a loyal customer for over a decade, use to eat there and order take out often, even after I moved to a different town I still go there to eat and order takeout regularly, and the food always tastes great. Unfortunately, yesterday (5/29/2024) I ordered a few dishes, crab Rangoon, scallion pancakes and chicken and broccoli and white rice and general Tso chicken and a chicken friend rice everything ordered at dinner size. The food tasted very blended and had little to no flavor, as if it came from a different low grade restaurant. My wife and I were shocked at how bad the food tasted, so today I decided to call and give some feedback to tell them that food did not taste as good as usual, I did not play on writing this review.
I asked to speak to the manager or owner and the lady on the phone said they were not around and that if I a have a complaint I can give it to her to pass along, I said gently no, that I would rather speak to the manager or owner, and after a brief hold a gentlemen named Will came on the phone, and I was telling him how the food did not taste as good as usual, he became instantly doubtful and told me that he tastes the food regularly and that his restaurant always serves the best food because he tastes the dishes often.
I gave him the time of the order and it’s total and describe the dishes and he proceeded to tell me, not that he doesn’t believe me, but I should have sent a picture as he checks thing randomly and everything always comes out great. I told him he sounded very defensive and that I don’t think he even cares for the review and he proceeded to tell me in order to get a refund he need to have pictures, and he spoke very good English, so language was not an issue during our conversation. I said that I was not calling about a refund I was giving some feedback back to say the chicken was under cooked and overall the dishes were bland and tasteless. He got and angry and said that he had to stuff to do and hung up on me.
The manager named “Will” was very upset and unprofessional and did not care about the review at all, he sounded quite arrogant and unwilling to take my feedback seriously, and instead took a phone feedback as an insult and hung up on a loyal customer.
This was my first and only feedback about this restaurant, I believe that the people of Winchester and the surrounding communities deserve better and safer venues to eat at. So loyal customers and new, beware of this man’s emotions, as he is fragile and unpleasant to deal with, the food quality might continue to decline as he is unwilling to listen and show no respect to his most loyal customers. Read moreMeh wasn’t anything too special I tried ordering from them about a month ago over the phone only to discover that they don’t do deliveries only on one of those stupid apps which I don’t really like so I went back about a week or two later again only to discover when I went in that you can’t even order appetizers I tried asking I can just this and that and they told me sorry we can only offer you a pu pu platter for one or two, which is what I did. It came with your basic stuff, pork fried rice, crab Rangoon‘s beef teriyaki and some other stuff I didn’t really want and some chicken fingers that I did I didn’t know when I got home after ordering the takeout that they put everything in a little plastic containers which I wasn’t really a fan of they could’ve just put everything in a white Styrofoam container the food was OK. Nothing to write home about half of it was pretty flavorless and just not very good however it was prepared pretty good but would I go back here, ? no probably not. I only did because my usual place oriental in Woburn center was closed and it was a Tuesday at the time, but I don’t think I’ll be back there anytime soon and it’s disappointing too for a place that’s in Winchester that’s very expensive and has a name that I have heard of. Read moreOk, to start normally this place is a 4 to 4.5 stars. Tonight, worst Chinese food ever. General tso chicken was either A, over cooked big time, or B, recooked, extremely hard and dry. Rice, same thing extremely over cooked or recooked, and on top of that, tasted horrific. Beef and broccoli had couple egg shells in it, don't know how. Crab Rangoons and chicken fingers was dark brown in color it was so over cooked. Called looking for a refund on this extremely bad order and got refunded for 3 items, for something I wouldn't eat even if it was free. Hopefully Management will call and fix things that went wrong with this order....everything. Lady I called wasn't much help and couldn't comprehend half of what I was trying to get at. Anyway, normally 4-4.5 stars, today, -1. I'm giving 2 stars for now and will update according to how management will handle this. Other than that, I will search for new restaurant.
