Food Lion — Local services in Windsor

So this is part 1 of several parts where I will be following up with corporate and this local location on the amazing and fabulous customer service and friendly, helpful nature that the nighttime manager named Kennedy. She has gone above and beyond not just for myself and my family but she has also made it clear that she loves her job, she loves helping anyone who may need it and is genuinely willing to go the distance to make sure her guests leave with a smile and not even a second thought on making this particular store their home store. I have seen her drop her what she is doing to assist not just guests but her co-workers. She is always pleasant and willing to take on multiple responsibility and roles in the best combination of teamwork and leadership skills I have witnessed. It would be such a a power move for this location and possibly even all the way up to a corporate management position. Not only is Food Lion blessed and lucky to have the opportunity to obtain such an amazing employee, but so are the loyal customers and new visitors who get the pleasure of quality customer service! Mobile orders via food lion app will have substitutions, but quite a few times substitutions were not needed bc the items were in stock. Substitutions are supposed to resemble items, but that's not the case. $5.99 Folgers substituted with a $21.99 Folgers. Price is nowhere the same & neither was the flavor. And it's funny how in the store there were multiple $5.99 Folgers that the associate could have chose as substitute. Then the $3.99 miracle whip 30 oz was substituted with 15 oz and $5.59. Inside the store there was a whole end shelf full of correct item with correct price. So when orders say substitutions plz be aware that's not always the truth. This has happened multiple times at this store. I know people make mistakes , but please fix this issue as prices on groceries just keep rising. I would understand reasonable substitutions: within same price range, and only when needed. Otherwise just refund the items. Teach employees where products are and/or ask floor/stock associates where items are before trying to charge someone a $15 difference for...

For a long time, Food Lion has been one of the most ubiquitous full service supermarkets in the region, and arguably the "go-to" establishment for most neighborhoods. Recently, though, their dominance has been challenged by multiple new entrants, who by comparison look newer, have better layouts, and generally appear more up-to-date with better/fresher meats and produce.

However, they have worked to meet the challenge by performing major remodeling of their stores and updating the quality of their fresh offerings. Additionally, they have added staff and better on-site management to put greater emphasis on customer service and the overall in-store experience. They remain price-competitive with the others, and actually beat them as the lowest priced option for the most desired commodities.

In my opinion, considering how much Food Lion has improved, they have met the challenge well. I do patronize their competitors for specialty items, but for me, for everyday shopping, Food Lion will not be...
