DO NOT use this company!!! I was a patron at the Franklin Park Zoo and attempted to buy a water from the vending machine just inside the zoo. The machine ONLY takes credit cards, so I used my Apple Pay feature on my phone. The machine made noises like it was dispensing a bottle of water but no water ever came out. I pushed the different buttons on the machine a couple time not realizing it was charging my card each time. That wasn't even the worst part. I approached a zoo employee and they told me to call the number on the machine. (They added that the machine would not charge you unless it dispensed the bottled water) I waited until the next day when the charge was posted not pending and I called the number on the machine. I was told to wait three more days to make sure the charges didn't go away. I waited the three days still the charge was posted to my account. I called back and was given another number to call, I called that number and waited 15 minutes on hold to get a representative. They wanted the first six numbers and the last four of my card. It was a virtual card because it was Apple Pay so I had the exact amount ($9.30), the exact day and exact time, the exact machine and the last four numbers of the virtual card. Unless they scammed several people for $9.30 that day. The representative claimed it wasn't on their system so it was pending. I explained it wasn't pending it was posted and tried to explain my issue with the number and it being a virtual card for security and the woman HUNG UP ON ME!!!! They are a SCAM....if they do this to everyone for one drink people are not going to make a big fuss, I was charged $9.30 so it mattered. but if 20 people get scammed a day for just one drink - this company is making $1500 a month on this one machine. I called my credit card company and I am disputing the charge, I refuse to deal with these people and I would caution other to be wary of them. They DO NOT back their faulty machines and make a profit from...
Read moreI used a vending machine at Franklin Park Zoo (near the playground) last week and tried to get a water for my kids. I put in my card and the machine indicating dispensing and made sounds like it was dispensing something, then I took my card out when indicated and nothing came out. I immediately called American Food & Vending and they told me the machine would know nothing was dispensed and I wouldn't be charged... I came on here to see the reviews and couldn't believe the review from 2 years ago. I could have written the same exact thing regarding my attempted vending machine purchase last week and my multiple calls to resolve a disputed charge - how can it be 2 years later and they still give you the run around, hang up on you and refuse to assist a customer who was charged but...
