We visited for four nights totaling just over $1000 my first red flag was the pictures they have listed must have some kind of filter on them because they don't accurately represent the condition of the building As soon as i walked in the front door I realized pre-booking was a mistake. I must say all of the staff were very polite and listened to my concerns because I did have a few The first thing was charging my credit card the entire amount at check-in I realize it's just a hold but I've never had that happen before they charged it more than the room quote in addition to that they also charged me $80 incidentals this is all within 15 minutes of checking in I can see how some of the complaints of people possibly using a debit card could've created issues for them but in all fairness there is a sign on the counter that recommends using a credit card to avoid any issues with a hold I was eventually charged exactly what the quote said, we did charge a couple of bottles of water to the room that were six dollars each, totally insane.... after checking out the incidental hold was gone within a couple days. Making our way to the room I continued to notice how dated and dilapidated the building was, it is an older hotel, the ceiling tiles are damaged lights are damaged, elevator has horrible carpet stains and chipped paneling etc. The room was just ok, there is some construction going on maybe they are remodeling? I hope so we were on the south side closest to the highway all we heard all night long were cars very loud apparently they've had complaints there was a white noise machine in the room The pool was closed as well as the fitness room, very disappointing. For $250 a night I honestly expected a hotel in better condition We had family staying just a half a mile away for $50 less a night the room was much nicer the hotel was in much better condition, incidentally there were no charges other than an incidental fee until after they checked out . Don't be fooled by the Marriott name like I was, I thought it would be a no-brainer as I have stayed with Marriott several times before with amazing satisfaction We didn't spend many daylight hours in the room but I will say this my wife and I both had "allergy issues" when we were in the room. When we got back to the room the second day there was no water which I can only assume they were repairing the water heater, I wondered why the water was barely lukewarm that morning while showering, the list goes on and on take a look at the pictures make up your mind for yourself for $250 a night I'm just not impressed at all I will say this again the staff was very polite and very helpful and the breakfast was pretty good for a hotel I didn't see any four legged furry friends like some of the reviews have posted, trust me I was looking for them Would I stay here again definitely not Did we make do with the best we...
Read moreReserved 3 rooms with two double beds in each room. Was given 3 rooms with a double bed only. Hotel was overbooked and we were told there was nothing we could do and it was our mistake because that is what we ordered. I assured them I did not order a room with a double bed especially considering that one room was for a family of 4. They could not even accommodate by giving us a cot for the kids. We were also made to wait while a tour bus checked in before they would even address the problem. The family of 4 was finally sent to another hotel 8 miles away so our family dinner plans were ruined as well as our evening plans. So much for spending time with my grandchildren who were now 8 miles away. Also, the "free breakfast" was not available due to the people from the tour bus crowding the entire area making it impossible to get anything and then on Monday the breakfast closed at 9 and we arrived at 9:10 to find everything gone. No restaurant in the hotel left us with no options. I guess every family must get up with the birds in order to eat even though they are on vacation and my not want to get up that early. Found the staff to be incompetent making constant errors and only one clerk on duty to check in the tour bus people which crowded the lobby where you could not move and only one elevator for everyone in the hotel to use while the tour bus people jammed it to get to their rooms. Outdoor pool only with the commuter train running right along side it and the hotel making constant noise. Our plans for our family vacation were not as planned and then I get home to find that the bill slipped under our door did not match what I was actually charged to my account by many hundreds of dollars. When I called the hotel to make them aware of it I got a "Oh, that was probably for incidentals and it will take 5 days to get it off your bill". $300 of incidentals? What incidentals? There was nothing to be had and I certainly didn't partake of any. We were overcharged by their error and we were told there was nothing they could do about it but I could leave a message for the manager who couldn't call me back until the next day. The most frustrating experience I have ever had at a hotel and I highly recommend staying anywhere else but there. I could also write about other things that happened as well but I am still too irritated to give any more thought to the overall experience. Like that fact that my grandchildren's family were sent to another hotel...
Read moreWe arrived the inn at 11:00pm. We rented 2 rooms for 3 nights via a third party site. The receptionist, who I later found out is a manager, acknowledges that we have 2 rooms but can only give us one room for the first night. There is no compensation whatsoever. All the receptionist did is not charging for the second room for the missing night and provide us a few small bottled waters upon request. The next day we would like to ask for bottled waters again the same receptionist refused, saying that the complimentary ones are all gone. I have to mention the incident again to beg for a bottled water in their merchandise fridge, which practically costs nothing to them. In my opinion he thinks such compensation is too much for us. On the night of my second day. I asked another receptionist (the one who helped us before is off shift) for the status or any sort of paperwork that the night is refunded but they failed to provide; no such record in the computer. They tell me to check with the manager tommorow morning so I did. It seems they did not leave any memo to the manager have to idea what I am talking about. She has to call the receptionist who helped me in the first night, the other manager, to make sure I am not making something up. They gave us a receipt showing one of the room is only rented for 2 night. The elevator stinks, I understand it because it was raining before my stay. However, it is sunny day during my stay but the elevator still smells horrible. All they did to the stinky elevator is to spray some deodorant which doesn't help at all. They have all kinds of carpet cleaning machine (it is an inn, I see they have them) but I guess no one is assigned to clean the elevator so everyone can enjoy the smell of dirty bowling shoes before and after their mediocre continental breakfast. (It is a 2 star inn, I dont expect much.) Some of their yogurt smells not that fresh, I guess they forgot to put the box into the fridge for a while. (The chobani one, the other brands in the fridge taste fine.) The waffle machine makes great waffles though. They have different flavored batter everyday. I thought Marriott knows how to do business but a 2 star hotel is a...
