Hello, I have been a member of WCC for 2 years now. My both of the boys have learns swimming here from Level 1 to Level 6 and they have been doing well in swimming. In appreciation, I thought of writing a positive review about my experience.

The Woodbridge Community Center is a wonderful hub for both fitness enthusiasts and families alike. Nestled in Woodbridge, NJ, this well-rounded facility offers a wide array of amenities that cater to people of all ages and interests, making it a standout in the local community. Pros:

State-of-the-Art Facilities: The Woodbridge Community Center boasts top-notch facilities, including a full-sized gymnasium, an indoor pool, and a well-equipped fitness center. Whether you're into cardio, weight training, or group classes, the fitness options here are diverse and plentiful.

Indoor Pool: The indoor pool is a standout feature, perfect for swimming year-round. It’s great for both fitness swimmers and families looking to enjoy some fun in the water. The pool area is clean, spacious, and well-maintained, making it a relaxing spot to unwind.

Family-Friendly: This center really shines when it comes to catering to families. From the kid-friendly activities in the pool to the youth programs, camps, and recreational leagues, there’s always something for children to enjoy. It’s a great place for families to bond and stay active together.

Variety of Classes and Programs: The Woodbridge Community Center offers an impressive variety of fitness classes, ranging from yoga and Pilates to spin and Zumba. Additionally, there are arts and crafts programs, educational workshops, and seasonal activities for all age groups, making it a versatile space for learning and recreation.

Helpful and Friendly Staff: The staff at the Woodbridge Community Center is known for being incredibly welcoming and helpful. Whether you’re signing up for a class or asking for directions, they’re always there to assist with a friendly attitude, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Cons:

Crowded During Peak Hours: As the center is popular among locals, it can sometimes get crowded, particularly during peak hours. The gym and pool can be busy, and parking can become a bit challenging. However, this is a small price to pay for such a great community resource.

Cost: While the services provided are excellent, the membership fees can be on the higher end for some individuals or families. However, the variety of programs and the quality of facilities often make it worth the investment for many.

Conclusion:

The Woodbridge Community Center is truly a gem in the heart of Woodbridge, NJ. It offers a diverse range of programs and facilities that cater to fitness lovers, families, and those looking for recreational activities. With friendly staff, modern amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to stay active, learn something new, or simply have fun with the whole family. Whether you’re a local resident or just passing through, this community center is a must-visit destination for all.

Since I'm a positive and fair person, I will start with the pros: awesome roller and ice rinks great pool decent fitness equipment and facilities for the price -mini golf and bungee trampoline

Cons: Ever since it went from a YMCA to WCC, there appears to be a serious disconnect between the Woodbridge Recreation Dept and the community center's front desk staff. Rarely do I see someone over the age of 18 working the desk - and when i have called for information, rarely get a straight or correct answer. Case in point, our 4 year old signed up for the 10-week Friday night ballet class this spring (2016) and it was cancelled for Memorial Day weekend. I'm not annoyed it was cancelled, but rather that when i called earlier in the day to confirm it was happening as scheduled, was told "yes". Myself and 3 other parents all showed up for class only to find nobody was there and it was in fact cancelled. When I mentioned this to the desk, one teenager apologized and another actually rolled her eyes at me. Seriously? Why didn't the teacher or faculty call or text the parents ? As for the class itself, the teacher is young and bubbly, but what they are doing in there hardly constitutes ballet. The class at The Club in Woodbridge actually brought a bar in for the girls to use. This is not hard to do. They basically spend the 45 mins running back and forth or holding hands in a circle. And the viewing area is a single small doorway that some of the more rude parents shove their way into, regardless of whether someone else is already standing there or not. I'd never enroll my children in another rec class there again. The Club across the street is a million times better for that, and similarly priced. the free "child care" provided during a workout is offered at less than ideal hours for parents of smaller children. It is only available for parents wanting to workout or take a class after 530pm during the week (possibly even later... I've been told something different each time I call). I have four children under 6 years old and 530-7 is dinner and bath time. Bed by 730/8. Once again, The Club across the street offers members free daycare for up to 2 hours at a time throughout the day. If The Club is open, so is the childcare. How much more what it cost to pay a teen minimum wage to cover more childcare hours at the WCC? Even if they charged members an additional flat monthly rate for this service? The WCC is more concerned with pushing their daycare and pre-k agendas that they are neglecting a core member need. The WCC monthly fees are not much less than they were when it was a YMCA, may be even more now, and you can't use your membership...

I am extremely disappointed with my membership so far! I decided to purchase a one year family membership and I would advise any and everyone not to purchase that option until you have had at least a month to experience it for yourself. I arrived to the WCC on April 13, 2019 to enjoy the pool with my family and there was a paper sign on the pool door that said that the pool would be closed from 12:00 to close! So I asked the girl at the front desk, just to confirm and she said that the pool would be open all day, so I entered the pool area with my children and we were told that the pool was closed and that we would have to leave, even though I had just been told otherwise! I also looked online before I arrived to the WCC and there were no notices on the website! AND I called ahead of time to ask how much it would cost to bring a guest for the day and I was told that it would be $10 for the day and we would have access to the entire facility! That would have been a great time to advise me that parts of the facility would be closed for the remainder of the day! This extremely disappointing and frustrating!

If you are considering a membership, make sure to get a day pass or pay for 1 month to feel it out...
