Prior to today I had never gone in to buy a pie, but have had their fantastic pies from others over the years. After almost grabbing a pie from a stack of hundreds of pies 5' from the entrance, I realized there was a barely readable hand written sign half folded over on itself that said "do not touch pies" which led me to ask the person behind the counter how I buy a pie. She kindly explained that the pies I saw were pre-ordered, but that they had a batch of pies for their pie case in the oven right now that would be 1st-come-1st-serve, and that if I came back in 1 hour she was confident I would be able to get one. Enticing enough, so an hour later I came back. The case was still empty and I shared with the person now behind the counter what I had been told. I was rudely informed that there were no case pies as I could see the case was empty. I was taken back, but thinking this young person may be unaware that there were pies baking for the case I again explained what I had been told. The response was so rude and condescending that I asked to speak with her manager to which she rolled her eyes and told the manager who turned out to be not but 10' away in clear earshot of this exchange that "she could deal with this guy." As a consumer, all I wanted was someone to apologize for the mis-information and for wasting my time. What I got from the manager was beyond unprofessional and with the clear message that I must be lying about what I was told. I left disgusted and insulted. I will pass on a great pie moving forward for my self-respect and...
Read moreI've been shopping at Red Eagle ever since I moved to the area. Their prices were high, especially for their pies ($18), but the staff was always helpful and courteous, until yesterday. I called on Friday (4/7/23) and asked the woman who answered if they had any kind of a certain pie left. They did not, so I asked if they would have them on Saturday, 4/8/23. She said that they would. so I replied that I would like to order one. She responded in kind of a curt manner, that they weren't taking any orders. I explained that I was a handicapped senior and wasn't sure I could get there early enough to get one, but she replied, in a bothered manner, that she wouldn't take an order. I would have even paid for it ahead of time, but it was basically first come, first served. The situation was not very customer focused. Fortunately, I found a pie at another establishment and the price was less that the $18 I would have spent at Red Eagle. There's an old saying "Take care of your customers, because if you don't, someone else will". I won't be back...
