It's basically a Home Goods knockoff that sells clothes too. Had a useless person experience with a manager when I went to Marshalls, won't be back for a long time. TLDR; follows.
I had just purchased $200 of bedding at Home Goods next door, because of the much larger and better inventory and well maintained areas. I decided to stop next door at Marshalls on my way out to check what they may have, it only took about 10 mins to browse through the entire bedding area which looked like a tornado had hit it. I found a body type pillow buried in a box but the packaging had been savaged, the pillow was awkwardly crammed back in its bag which had a hole in it. After collecting the other products I was going to purchase, several sheet sets and mattress protectors I took the pillow up front thinking well if the manager is willing to give me even a dollar off this damaged $20 pillow I'll buy it. Keep in mind the box is mangled and it had been obviously removed from the plastic bag package. When I asked the manager at the time, some Hispanic woman In her 40s, about a discount she said in her best broken English, "I don no. I check." Scans the item then tells me No. Is full price... I laughed 🤣. The dismissive nature of the manager is what prompted me to laugh and walk away leaving the cart with several sheet sets and mattress protectors behind. I asked "Do you really expect to get full price for a damaged item? She told me there's nothing wrong with it! Even though the bag was ripped open and the box packaging didn't even stay on by its self... No thank you. The store is okay, has some ok sales, but the people you choose to run it matter.... If you currently have a person who's willing to drive away a sale of a couple hundred dollars over what could have amounted to a $1 discount on a damaged product, you made a mistake. They should not be in charge of your store, or your inventory, or your bathrooms.
I wonder how much money in abandoned sales that manager has actually cost the store since they started working there. 🤔 Because if I was willing to walk away, which I don't usually do, I'd bet others have too. I remember when you used to hire managers that went to business school, people that knew how to deal with customers, instead of just hiring anybody over the age of 35 because they're still a reliable human body that will show up at work every day... Even if they are bad at the job.... Anyways I'm thankful that Home Goods had everything I really needed and a finer selection to...
Read moreI bought this wok on sale early in the year and just used it for the first time. It was really beautiful (wish I had a photo of it before I used it) on sale for 18 or $20 from $30-something so I grabbed it. It seemed to work wonderfully while I was cooking, but it totally rusted just leaving it dirty for a few hours before cleaning it, that should not happen. I’m shocked, I’ve shopped Marshalls for decades but never ever will I buy cookware from them again. Apparently they don’t stock quality merchandise any longer. If I had my receipt I would TRY...
Read moreThis past week, I recently made a quick trip into this store. It was my first time visiting this location and overall had a great experience! The staff are so friendly and genuinely care about the costumers. I had the pleasure of meeting a staff member named Kilani, he helped me with my purchase and was a great person to talk to while my transaction was being finalized. He informed me about the rewards card and guided me through the process to acquire it. Essentially, this store has great products and great staff, and would be great for...
