We signed up for a new membership account and the lady in customer service put in my name AND address incorrectly and did not ask me verify it. I learned this when i tried to buy online. in store purchases worked fine, however, transactions i tried to make online were all blocked for any costco purchases, tying my account balance up with several day long PENDING status. i thought it was my bank but after speaking to them the problem was clearly costco. worst of all, costco were unable to fix it (nor did they even seem to care). I called costco by phone and they told me that i was required to go to the physical store to fix the problem because the employee entered my details wrong. the guy at the store fixed the incorrect details, but still it did not work. i tried the costco online app and my orders were, once again, canceled due to some issue with customer details- so the issue persisted. i was told to come back in 24 hours and try again- didnt work. I called costco again and got a new story about why i cant buy online, which was absolutely incorrect and at this point i realised costco is not interested in actually resolving my problem but rather, interested in passing it on to someone or somewhere else. Long story short, costco said to call, and when i called they said to go in person, and when i went in person they said to come back another time. neither of them resolved the issue after giving me yet another runaround. i was left with no option but to cancel my membership because i have determined that the costco membership services advertised to me was not what i was receiving. i also found that the membership savings were not worth the necessary time and energy in trying to fix a simple problem, a problem which the costco employee bestowed upon me. I once believed the hype that Costco was the best in customer service and satisfaction, but i was wrong. at this point i was so infuriated that i canceled my membership and forfeited $60+ in executive member rewards, which if my initial experience is anything to go on, probably wont be a good time when it comes to claiming them. i have learned from this unfortunate and miserable experience that the savings i would have gotten buying from costco are not worth the time and effort necessary to resolve what should be an extremely easy fix, let alone paying them a subscription; so what’s even the point?

Costco: The $400 Store You Visited for Toothpaste Ah, Costco. The magical land of bulk-buy dreams, $1.50 hot dogs, and the illusion that you’re saving money by buying a lifetime supply of string cheese. Let’s talk facts. Costco makes you feel like a smart shopper. You walk in thinking you’re about to beat the system — but unless you’re actually paying attention to unit prices and product weights, you’re the one getting played. Yeah, they toss you a few loss leaders to get you through the door: ‱ The $5 rotisserie chicken ‱ The $1.50 hot dog and soda combo ‱ That $9 pizza you could feed a football team with But those are the bait. Then they hit you with steak packs for $98 that somehow cost more per pound than anywhere else in the state of Washington. Seafood? Please. Shrimp and scallops priced like they were hand-harvested by Neptune himself. Let’s not forget the snacks, sauces, and condiments sold in buckets that look like good deals — until you do the math and realize Fred Meyer, QFC, or even WinCo beats it by 20–30% on most items. The trick? Costco sells you on size and feeling, not actual value. It’s retail psychology on steroids — literally. That massive box must be a deal, right? Wrong. You just bought 3 pounds of ketchup at double the unit price of the one at your local grocery store. The real insult? You feel guilty if you leave without spending $200
like you wasted a golden membership opportunity. They trained you to think that spending more = winning. So, unless you’re an eagle-eyed shopper with a calculator in hand, you’re not saving — you’re spending more, in bulk. Sure, grab the toilet paper, rotisserie chicken, and maybe a discounted tire rotation. But if you’re filling your cart with steaks, seafood, and pantry staples without checking prices? You’re not shopping smart. You’re just paying more to feel good about

This is a great location to find some items, especially Asian ones, not carried in Kirkland! Definitely worth a browse if you're already in this area. The gas station hasn't been too busy when I've gone and the parking lot is designed to have more spots closer to the entrance than the Kirkland location as well, somewhat similar to the Redmond location. The optical practice is right of the entrance and the pharmacy is on the opposite far side of the store next to the hearing center.

Thank you for going extra miles in installing the tire at the last minute drop by of New Years eve of 2022.

So here is the story. Prior the first snow storm hit in Seattle on Dec 26th, I made a plan to ski at Snoqualmie on Dec 27th. To stick to the plan, I brought two set of snow chains (one for PROD use and one for backup) and did the two dry run installations in my garage within 6 minutes on average, which gave me relative good confidence on driving on the icy snow road.

However, on our way to the resort, everything was on track until the last 3 to 5 miles or so. The snow chain got broken on the I-90 highway. Luckily, as the car slowed down and dragged further, we approached an empty area which was the entrance of the highway.

So I parked the car there and attempted to install the backup snow chain, which somehow mysteriously could not be locked down properly on the tire. The backup snow chain was one button shorter. I applied the same approach done in my garage and it would not work out. To make things worse, because I mistakenly locked the one button at the inner side of tire, it becomes even more challenging to uninstall the half installed snow chain on the wheel as it tangled like a string and my bear frozen hand could not unlock the chain.

After struggling for half an hour, watching the car and trucks passing by, I would be lying if I say that I did not feel the fear of unpredictability. Finally, we managed to remove the half installed the snow chain as well as the functioning chain and we luckily reached our destination at the resort and enjoyed the day. And on our way back, we proceed to drive without any snow chain and again, luckily, we arrived at the home safe and sound. But I had been telling myself that I would never ever again push my luck at such manner.

Hence, I did a bunch of search on the Internet and try to find the tire that could perform well under icy and snow road. And I found the one in Costco. "Michelin x ice snow tires". When I placed the order, it was telling me that it estimates to be available for installation at the warehouse within 5 to 10 days. Luckily, the next day, which is Dec 31, 2021, I got an email notifying me that my tire was ready for installation as there had been a set of tire at the warehouse. However, when I was to make the appointment online, it only allowed me to select at least 10 days later than the original purchase date, which would be too late for our second planned trip to the resort on Jan 2nd, 2022.

So I drove my car, under icy snow road, to Costco on the New Years eve of 2022 and arrived there around 4:30 pm. The store was scheduled to be closed at 6:00pm and understandably, no one would expect a drop by visit at the last hour of 2021. After initial contact with the recipient, I was scheduled to receive the service 6 days later. But that was not good enough. As I was making my way out of the store, thinking of the unknown unknowns that I would experience in the next trip, I made a turn back and requested the recipient to double check with the technician if I am more than happy to offer $200 tips if it could be done today.

Knowing the importance that I put on this tire service, they kindly accepted my request and kicked off the process literally at the last hour of 2021 and it got completed before 6:00 pm. And when I was told that my car is ready for pickup, I suddenly realized that I did not bring any cash at my hand. Embarrassingly, I ask the technician whether I could have his Venmo or Zella account, to my surprise, he told me that it is against Costco policy to receive any extra tips from customers. And I am all good to go. And then I asked him what I could do to express my application. He told me that if I want, I could leave a review on the website.

So here I am. Thank you Costco for everything. You win another...

Good quality products, fresh produce, but it supposed to be exclusive membership club. That's is why the membership prices are very high, so the logic is to SAVE money by paying those high membership prices, and buy in bulk & large quantities, But actually alot of their prices on produce, and meat ,canned food, are more expensive đŸ€‘than other shopping large chains for example( fred Meyer, Winco, cash& carry,Safeway, Grocery outlets) so where is the wisdom 😏in buying so much, at one time, and paying more for it plus membership fee, and have to finish it in short time, it will go badđŸ„ș, or you put in the freezer đŸ„¶, or get stuck eating or drinking that flavor for days, or weeks until you finish it đŸ€ź. plus all the space it will take at home to store what you just bought from Costco, plus what you already have bought from Costco before , when you can easily buy smaller quantities and fresher products,(produce, drinks, canned food, meat) from other suppliers mentioned above and save money and not stuck with one flavor for weeks.đŸ˜« Costco has varying level of customer service depending on the location where you shop. Down town, south center, federal way, north Seattle have very very badđŸ˜ˆđŸ€ŹđŸ˜  customer service, and are not accommodating to customers, and they treat you like with resentments ,or like they are forced to deal with you, does not matter either you are buying or especially when returning items. It is like they want to tell you we are the only big warehouse wholesale company here, and we have monopoly, and dominance on the market, and we don't care about you, and we make our policies, and rules, and you are the little consumer, so you must accept how we treat you Woodinville, Everett, are better in customer service. 😐😐You get better attention, and help from employees. Now on the other hand Costco on the east side Kirkland, Issaquah, Redmond are completely different. You are a very well respected customer, you get treated with so much respect,đŸ€—đŸ˜ƒ and attention you feel you are a royalty no matter what you look like, or how you are dressed, makes you feel, you only want to shop at Costco Eastside, but then you have to make the...
