This just goes to show you. If you don't know enough of the business then someone will always try and legally steal a piece of jewelry from you. From the moment I walked through the doors I had a feeling that something was off about this place. All of the lights in the store were off including the lights in the jewelry cases. It was also very hot and muggy in the store. He was changing a battery for another customer and charged her 20.00 just for a regular battery. I was like hmmm that seems like a lot for a small battery. So after 25 minutes of waiting for him to finish small talk with the girl he was working with he said can I see what you have. I said sure here it is. Well what I have is a 1.85 ct Solitair diamond with a platinum setting that has a EGL Certification of $19,700.00 and it says SI1 I to J color. He looked at it and said well It's a tough diamond to sell no one wants a Old European Cut Diamond. I said ok that's understandable. He then said I would like to buy it but how much are you selling it for? I stated I was looking to get $7,000 for it. He laughed and said I wouldn't get no where near that amount. I said ok what would you like to offer me? He then replied with $200 dollars. I nearly lost my temper and said you are trying to steal this from me aren't you. I then took my ring back and told him I'm all set. He then said let me explain. I said there is no explanation for what you just offered me. The platinum alone is worth more than $200 dollars and the diamond alone is worth Thousands of dollars.
