Overall the layout is good, greens were decent and speed was good, but it always seems to be very wet out there. The issue I have is they continue to disappoint from a service perspective. Overall the bar staff is friendly and provided good service but it appears the ownership continues to cheap out on the small stuff. First the GPS in carts had been removed. Second there are no rakes in the bunkers. I asked about it and the excuse was "after Covid nobody wanted to go back to rakes in the bunkers and we have a local rule to move it from a footprint is you have a bad lie, etc". I call B.S. on that one. The bar cart had no ice so the drinks were somewhat warm. I joked with the bartender about putting ice in and she says they ration it because it melts so fast(Really?). Lastly was the Nazi starter. We had a Ryder cup style event with 24 players and the starter would not let anyone go up to the first tee to cheer people on(not even the next group). We had to wait back at the practice green until the group ahead was gone. It just seems they don't really care about the guest experience. For the price you pay vs the experience I'd go to other area courses first.
Edit regarding owner response: As a former golf professional I care a lot about the overall guest experience. My hope was that you might see the review and make positive changes so that patrons like myself might enjoy the experience more next time. From your comments it appears I was correct in that you don't care about the guest experience or making...
Read moreBar/waitstaff/cart were awesome. Great customer service. Other than that where do I start. We had 24 guys out for a Mn vs wi 3 day, 4 round tournament. The gentleman checking us all in seemed very annoyed we were even there. Over the top and rude. Maybe if he focused more on the golf course and not bossing everyone around like an
army captain they would have time to put move the pins or change the tee boxes one time in 4 rounds. By round 4 you couldn’t find a spot on the par 3s with grass. Wouldn’t taken anyone 30 seconds to move a couple rocks to at least give you some good ground and change the hole a few yards from the previous rounds. No waiting and watching your friends tee off on the first tee? Oh ok so that’s a rule at a course that doesn’t even have rakes in their bunkers?
Again, the restaurant staff was great and really saved the trip. My suggestion is let them run the golf course too.
Response to owner: Facelessly bash on google? My picture and name are right there. Moving a pin and some tee boxes one time over 3 days and 4 rounds isn’t much to expect from a golf course. It’s called a review and me along with other players mentioned are frustration with staff. Maybe put a little effort in to not being lazy when it comes to golf course expectations than trying to defend a...
Read moreCrosswinds Grille: I normally don't post about anything and when people do post, it is usually to complain about something. I however simply need to post about the quality and consistency of the food at Crosswinds Grille.
Chef Bob does a great job with the menu and providing a large variety of flavorful dishes. If you haven't tried the restaurant, I would encourage you to do so. Some of my favorites are the Buffalo Mac & Cheese, the Cubano (best Cuban sandwich anywhere), the Brisket Roll (flavorful, tender brisket ...yum!) and something new called the Spicy Thai Bowl. I think Chef Bob is so creative, it is difficult not to order the same thing twice in a row. I find something good and wish to re-order but attempt to try something different every time and am impressed time and again.
We tell our friends about the restaurant and ask them to try it. A varied menu, many wonderful dishes and nice atmosphere make it an enjoyable dining experience.
Lastly, I avoided trying the pizza for the past two seasons. I am very picky about my pizza. Everyone says they have good pizza, yet most places do not. I finally tried the pizza this season, and guess what? It is good!
Hats off to Chef Bob, my wife & I appreciate your...
