(If I could give 0 stars, I would)
It’s disappointing to see the lack of willingness from some of the staff to assist students. Many seem uninterested in helping, respond with poor attitudes, or completely ignore questions. If you're a person of color or if English is your second language, you may have an even harder time getting the help you need. It’s extremely disheartening.
To make matters worse, many of the staff appear to be older and, frankly, rude and dismissive. It's as if helping students is a burden to them. I even witnessed students being cut off mid-question or treated with unnecessary hostility.
When I attended Collin College years ago, I never experienced this kind of treatment. The environment didn’t feel nearly as unwelcoming or racially biased. Maybe it’s just this specific location, because I’ve never had issues at the Plano, Frisco, or McKinney campuses.
I hope the college takes this feedback seriously and reevaluates the professionalism and conduct...
Read moreI’m very disappointed to write this review but I want to warn others. I wanted to sign up for summer classes and wasn’t explained the process of how fast paced they are, nor was I asked about how busy my lifestyle is. I’m a single mother who works 3 jobs and I was thrown in to taking FOUR (yes, FOUR) summer classes the following week after I had signed up. I’m so sad cause I can’t do anything. I can’t drop out, I can’t move these classes to the fall so that it’s a slower pace or anything. I’m totally screwed. I’m not sure if these people get commission for signing us up for classes but the guy didn’t give a crap or ask me literally anything about my lifestyle and now I’m probably going to fail from being overwhelmed and not having the time to do...
Read moreThey help slackers and don’t reward the people who work hard. I do all the extra credit and get A’s on everything but my teacher’s boss said I’m not allowed to get above a 100. Every other class I’ve been in at all the other campuses have been fine. It’s ridiculous. Why do the people who don’t work hard or study get to have their 10 extra points but the people who do get punished?
Here’s an example. I got a 100 on this quiz but the 10 extra points of extra credit homework that took me 6 hours to complete were not allowed to be applied. Not because my teacher didn’t want to but because her boss said...
