This issue has been going on for about two weeks now. Last week, I went in on $3 day with a cart full of about $300 worth of items. I specifically asked the employee (the one with large glasses and a noticeable facial mole) whether she would charge items individually if they were obviously part of a set â like pajama tops and bottoms that were originally together on a Target hanger but had been separated. I spent over an hour trying to find matching pieces, only to be told by her that she would charge each piece separately â even though the tags clearly said âNot for individual sale.â
When I mentioned that another employee normally charges sets as one item, she responded, âWell, you can wait for her,â and then went to tell the manager. Instead of resolving the issue, the manager said that the employee who charges sets together âshould be fired.â Fired â for doing the right thing. That was shocking.
I stopped shopping there for a week or two (I normally come in 3â4 times a week and spend hundreds each time â actually saved money not going). Today, I gave it another shot, and the helpful employee â the one who does do the right thing â approached me, confused and concerned. She said the manager had accused her of âstealingâ because she let customers take sets. Thatâs not even what I told the other employee â who clearly lied to get her in trouble.
While we were calmly discussing the situation, the same woman with the glasses walked up. I referred to her in Spanish as âestaâ (this one), which was not meant to be disrespectful â just a way of identifying who we were talking about. But she immediately snapped at me, saying, âFirst of all, esta has a name.â I replied, âI donât know your name, nor do I care â Iâm having a conversation with someone else.â
Instead of walking away, she kept escalating the situation, saying, âIf you think youâre so educated, I have a name.â I responded, âWhy would I know your name?â She kept arguing until finally saying, âYouâre not that important â Iâm here to talk to her,â and I said, âThen why are you responding to me?â
She wasnât walking away â she told me she had âmore important things to doâ and needed to get back to work. So I responded, âExactly â then get to work. That attitude is why you work here.â Thatâs when she completely lost it. In front of a store full of customers, said with her whole chest: âThatâs why you shop here! You think you have money, but you shop here!â
It was a blatant insult to me and every shopper in the building, implying weâre all broke and beneath her. I came in to quietly shop, and instead I was approached, harassed, and publicly disrespected by an employee who should never be working in customer service.
I made sure to repeat what she said loudly so other shoppers could hear how theyâre viewed by this employee. Itâs outrageous.
There are a handful of liquidation stores in the area. I used to recommend this one to lawyers and investigators I work with â but I wonât anymore. Iâve spent thousands here. Iâve entered their raffles. Iâve promoted their business. But itâs not worth being insulted and watching honest employees get punished because one toxic worker lies to management.
The storeâs policy of separating and charging for items that are clearly meant to be sold together is questionable at best. Iâm currently studying law and working with attorneys who specialize in consumer protection â I might just run this situation by them.
Management: if you want to make this right, you know how to reach me. But as it stands, this place has lost a loyal customer â and maybe...
Read moreDuring my visit, I was attempting to check out with my two children. For personal reasons, I requested a different cashier. Following this request, and as I was leaving the store, two employees, black haired female and her bc that are both employees began recording me with their personal devices. When I questioned their actions, the employees claimed they were recording because they "thought I was going to hit them with my car." This explanation is not credible, as they had already begun recording me before I had even exited the store and approached my vehicle. Their initial intention to record me was clearly present before any perceived threat could have occurred.
I returned to the store 2 days later and was shown videos by the manager that was not present and it clearly showed the employee had intentions of recording prior to I finding out. He trespassed me from the store and asked if o wanted to exchange information with employee I replied yes and he denied.
This behavior was not only unprofessional and invasive but also caused me significant distress and made me feel targeted and uncomfortable, especially in front of my children. It is unacceptable for store employees to engage in such actions, particularly when their explanation appears to be a fabrication to justify their inappropriate conduct.
I am requesting a thorough investigation into this matter, I would also appreciate a response outlining the steps the owner will take to address this issue and ensure that customers are treated with respect and privacy in...
Read moreTerrible service, I got trespassed for asking for another cashier because she had a stank attitude and was throwing my items all over my cart the week before. Then they followed me outside to record me (two employees) boyfriend and girlfriend. Like why have a couple work there to team up on your clients anyways I thought they stopped recording but when I hopped in my car I noticed the camera was still pointing my way so I moved closer to where they were located to see if they would continue recording and to confront them of course. after confronting them, they still continued recording my children and i . Theyâre so delusional . The word will get around on how horrible they treat their customers. And to trespass me over asking for a different cashier ridiculous. They could have prevented it all if they wouldnât have started recording my children and I and acting crazy all for asking for a different cashier. Who ever owns this needs to put Yakima...
