Signature Finishes — Local services in York

Signature Finishes is a favorite shop of mine for artsy craftsy products of high quality. When we were on vacation this year, we saw it was in its new location (just after Stonewall Kitchen but before the plaza with the Dollar Store) and of course I had to stop by for the new Iron Orchid Designs Christmas 2025 collection. What a lovely new shop! It’s much bigger, allowing for more space for other cool things Maureen (the owner) sells. She’s got so many beautiful things in there, including antiques for sale. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. And Maureen is the absolute best, too. She’s super helpful but also leaves you to explore the whole floor of various displays and goods. We chatted a while about the new IOD moulds and transfers, what we did for other collections, and what we have planned for Christmas makes this year. She is an utter delight. I ended up getting 2 holiday transfers and 1 mould, a little of this, a little of that. I was so inspired by Maureen and all her art samples from past classes. I would love to take a workshop someday. This is a crafty happy place, and I can’t wait to return when I’m in the area. Thank you, Maureen!!

Very old review, still a great shop: I have yet to physically enter the store (yet!!), as I’m in CT and our trips to York were on hold for the last year. But I’m still into new hobbies (no travel? make stuff!), so have just ordered from the lovely Signature Finishes website. My order was shipped within an hour and I just opened it today. Lovely little handwritten note on my packing slip, all correct items inside, in perfect condition and ready to play with. Super impressed already! I had the opportunity to meet Signature Finishes owner today, Maureen, and I am so impressed by the care and knowledge she presented with to help me repair our kitchen backsplash. I damaged the backsplash recently when I desperately lit all 5 burners on stove top due to power outage (trying to keep kitchen area warm), and burnished the decorative centerpiece and frame; it was awful and the stone fruit bowl centerpiece was no longer in production -a disaster of sorts!!!

I am an artist and simply cannot look at something that is so "bastardized" especially knowing what it looked like previously! I reached out to Maureen who apparently in addition to being the Signature Finishes shop owner, is the United States representative for Annie Sloan Chalk paints. She literally did a demonstration in the shop on a spare piece of tile I had, came up with a color formulation and also with a custom tint to "seal" the deal! I cannot be happier with the outcome. I am so happy I found her and that I was introduced to this speciality paint and her store. I ALWAYS have projects in need of an artists touch and she is the real deal! ...

I recently took a beginner chalk paint class at Signature Finishes. Maureen, the owner and instructor was very experienced and knowledgeable. She showed us many techniques. Not only did she walk us through a project during class, but all of the supplies needed are available at her shop. She has many samples of colors and finishes to choose from. Seeing them on a sample board was really helpful. I was able to use what I learned during class to try a project at home. Not only was this a fun way to spend the day, but I came away with some unique furnishings for my home. I can't wait to take another workshop with her. I highly recommend Signature Finishes!! ...
