I found this rehabilitation rescue through the humane society after unexpectedly finding two severely injured rabbits on my property. Their eyes were still closed and their injuries were so severe that I didn’t know if they would make it the drive over there. I spoke with someone at a different rescue and they advised me to bring them in immediately despite not having an appointment, given the circumstance.
I was met by a woman who, while greeting me, kicked her pug because he was barking. She was completely dismissive and was more annoyed than focused on the injured animals I brought. She asked rudely, “you couldn’t have waited?” And after saying no, she grabbed the box I had of them and roughly plopped it onto the fence as if there weren’t two injured rabbits inside. She then scoffed, waved me away, and provided no further indication that they would be cared for. I had left a voicemail and done my best to wait and follow their protocol, but I was too nervous that they wouldn’t make it. It was so shockingly unprofessional and left me feeling uncertain if they would receive care. While I understand people can have a bad day, such a lack of compassion and basic courtesy is especially troubling for an organization dedicated to animal rescue and rehabilitation. Only hoping the bunnies are cared for and...
Read moreBest place on planet! I had no one to help me with this bunny I found that someone hit and left and I called a couple vets around me in greensburg to help this animal and put it down because I knew no one would be able to help it and they all said no which I thought was disgusting I assumed that vets like all doctors took some sort of oath to not leave a distressed animal or hurt animal to suffer and die but apparently not. Im from Erie and a vet there did do this for me when I found a baby bunny who’s back legs got hit and there was no way to help, but the lord was with me and this bunny because I found this place and the woman who greeted me was the most kind and caring person I have ever met she gave me a hug seeing how upset I was and even took the bunny when i had nothing at that time to give because all I had was a credit card I think her name was Elizabeth and I doubt she knows what she did for me that day but it was a whole lot and I won’t forget it. I will donate as much as I can as often as I can because this place is amazing and not...
Read moreI was referred here for a sick bird that I found. I left a message even though I knew it was after their listed hours and was just hoping the bird would make it through the night should I not get a return call until the next day. I was pleasantly surprised to get a pretty fast return call and was able to make an appointment for the same evening to drop the bird off. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and caring volunteers. They were honest with what might happen to the bird (unfortunately there can't always be a happy ending but I am glad I made an attempt) and said that I am more than welcome to follow up and see how things went.
Nothing is required at drop-off but donations are strongly encouraged (cash, check, or they have an Amazon wishlist on their website). Appointments are required since they are volunteers only. I'm very glad I was referred here and will definitely contact them again should I ever come across another...
