My experience was much like that others here who have left poor reviews. Like Bill described, the young man who helped me was startlingly rude. (I am not the same customer btw).
I went to Fast Eddies and bought a small drone yesterday. When I got home, I found the drone wouldn't charge. I brought it back to the store and explained the problem and asked for a refund.
The young employee plugged in the drone and it wouldn't charge. He then replaced the battery and plugged it in again. The lights on the model lit up and he seemed to infer that meant it was working. It doesn't. The light on the charging cable lights when the battery is charging up. The model lit up simply because the replacement battery had some charge on it. I asked him if this wasn't the case and he agreed.
He called his boss to ask about a refund. He told his boss nothing was wrong with the drone and that it worked just fine.
He told me Eddie would be there in 10 minutes to talk to me. While we were waiting he again turned the model on, it lit up and he flew it briefly. I asked if the original battery that was in it and told me it was. I pointed out that the other battery was the one in the drone when I bought it. He seemed surprised and asked me how I knew that. I pointed out the marks on the adhesive where it had been fixed to the model, before he made the swap. He again seemed to imply it was working correctly because the drone lit up and flew.
When Eddie, the owner arrived he did nothing to improve my impression of the store. He seemed entirely unconcerned with his employee's behavior and despite the abundant evidence that his store had sold me a defective product, seems oblivious to the inconvenience and bad impression he made.
Eddie,
Your response suggests that you think it remarkable that you refunded my money for a product that didn't work. I'm not sure what you could have done to repair my poor impression, but that is something I hope you figure out because I really would like a local source for my RC needs and those...
Read moreAt first I didn’t even know what this store had. So my first time in there I just check to see what they had. I can’t say I know much about much when it comes to Rc but to what I believe is to be the store owner him self introduced me to what they had in the store. At that point he pretty much had me sold. So I managed to save up some money to get a Traxxas Rustler. Also note that the store owner may not be their or someone as experienced and they might have someone new to the hobbie working at the store. For example when I got the Rustler there was this lady at the counter who probably is new. I personally can’t really tell because I’m new too, but even know she amited to not know much she didn’t stop to try her best to help me. Luckily for me I did a little research ahead of time and knew what I wanted giving me the Rustler I want and maybe for the nice lady the experience she needed for her next customer. Win win I could say. Second time was an easy purchas just needed a better charger and a LiPo battery same lady fast sale. Third time I needed to to get some hardware to do a repair on my Rustler. Now this is when the customer needs to know what part they need for them self. I found the parts number in the in the repair manual since Traxxas was nice enough to give diagrams and even tell you if you could go to the hobbie store for certain parts. So after finding the parts number I went to the shop and got the part I need. This time there was two younger people they’re one a male one a female. The young female was nice and got me the parts nice and quick while the younger male was very social and showed what next mods I could do to my Rustler. So now for sure I’m coming back a fourth time most likely for some nice street wheels or some better shocks. I’m just gonna end this review here because I’m already righting an essay. To sum this up this place is awesome and the staff gave me...
Read moreCustomer service is lacking. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this place and was left very unsatisfied after my last visit. I had them special order me some items, which were all in stock and available at the time. A week later I get a call that all my stuff had come in and found they had mixed up part numbers and got the wrong set of tires in, and asked them to please get the correct tires. They say no problem. I call a week later and am told the tires I want are not available and they never bothered to let me know so I could get something else ordered. I go down there to pick up my items and buy the mis-ordered tires just to get me by, and they don't have a second set of tires and according to the owner they never did. So I asked if I could exchange the wheels and one set of tires towards the purchase of a different style so I could have a full set and actually drive my rc, and was told flat out no by the owner before he blew me off and walked away. I waited two weeks, wrong parts, got conflicting info from employees, dishonest owner, and was given zero accommodations to ensure I left a happy customer after their mistakes. At one point it was even suggested that I order stuff online myself, and I think I will from now on, and will not go back to fast eddies.
Eddies response doesn't change the fact I was left hanging after weeks of waiting for parts, not getting the right parts, and couldn't careless if I was happy after the sale. Offing to order me something else after dropping the ball is a sorry excuse for not doing your job in the first place. Besides that Eddie lied right to my face about notifying me about items availability, and that's more then enough for me to never patronize his shop again. Go to Amain, better deals and none...
