Canalis Club — Local services in Ho Chi Minh City

We were approached by a promotion worker for this club who gave us a 5 million VND voucher to come to this place. Although we myself and my two friends were all working the next morning (so couldn’t drink), it was early and in a convenient location so we decided to go check the place out and have a glass of wine then leave. Can’t hurt, right?

After we arrived, we asked for wine, but they brought and opened a bottle of vodka that we did not want. We repeatedly told staff that we did not want vodka or ask for it, but they opened it anyway and then insisted on charging us for the drink we didn’t want or order because they had opened it already. They also never did bring us the things we actually ordered. When we told them we wouldn’t pay for it, they assured us it was less than the value of the voucher anyway and we only needed to pay for the tissues.

Next, they brought a platter of fruit and a Shisha pipe to the table. Again, we did not order this and none of us wanted to eat or smoke. We had the same argument about refusing to pay for it and were again told not to worry, the total bill is less than 5 million voucher, if you don’t want it you can just leave it. It seemed a waste, but they were simply refusing to listen to us so as long as we weren’t being forced to pay for stuff we didn’t want it seemed easier to just let it go.

The wait staff consistently came to our table and tried to force us to drink the unwanted vodka, often aggressively, and the promotion worker helped himself to the drinks at our table. They wouldn’t leave us alone to enjoy ourselves and kept pestering us throughout.

We got so sick of all of this nonsense (and the terrible music too) that we decided to leave. We were told that although the voucher paid for the drinks, we had to pay “taxes” of 1.2 million VND or wouldn’t be allowed to leave. In effect, we have just been bullied into paying 1.2 million for some 30k tissues. All of the other products we never wanted or ordered. Ironically, the one thing we did want and would have paid for (a glass of wine each) were never given to us.

Would highly recommend everybody to avoid this place at all costs; don’t fall for the scam or listen to their excuses! Even if you do go and manage to argue with them until they bring you only what you want without forcing other things on you, expect to pay a ridiculous amount of “tax” way above legal rates on top of whatever price they told you it was.

There are many, many, many other places to go in Saigon that have good music, a better atmosphere, staff that listen to your orders,...

We came from India and went to Canali club with a lot of hopes of having a good party.

Clubs atmosphere is dull and even on a Saturday night there was no crowd. Half of the club was empty.

Club has a smart tendency to over charge the costumers for each and everything.

Even after reading this review if you are desperate to go to this club. Please check the Bill amount and Bill includsions before paying.

We went to Arnos club one day prior and that club has FANTASTIC ambience along with SUPERB service. They do not cheat like CANALI club

Canali club is only good for cheap Chinese crowd Please don’t take me wrong, every country has Decent and indecent crowd. But Canali only attracts cheap Chinese crowd.

Do not enter this club with your female partners or friends. It’s risky for them. Canali club fails to make the environment safe for female audiences.

ATMOS on the other hand has a much safer environment and Service in every sense.

Our bill was 7 million dong+. The place is very UNPROFESSIONAL. My friends wanted to go back home & I wanted to stay in the club. I had left the table for couple of minutes to see off my friends & collect some Viet Dong from them as i did not not any local currency to tip to our waiter. When i came back to the table, i was shocked that the so called hostesses had vanished and the table was almost cleaned. The bottle still had quarter of vodka left in the bottle. My glass was still half & the bottle still had quarter of drink left. This place is SCAM bcoz they cleaned the table in a speed which only give impression that they wanted to keep quarter of the bottle as it was paid. The host & hostesses had vanished. Expats, pls do not come here, Mama Banana near Bui Vien is great.. Poc Poc is also great… Canalis is...
