there is something for everyone at this park. a waterpark and okay ground for the kids, tennis for everyone, beautiful views and nice walks. we went during the week around 11am and it was a great time to go. not too busy and enough shady spots to shield front he sun. lots of picturesque views, Geese and water features. flowers to look at and green grass to run around on. there appears to be ample parking and enough places close by to pick up some snacks if you are wanting to stay a while. I did not go around the entire park, it is a decent size, but from what I saw it is a great place to visit.

Beautiful park in downtown Vernon. Streams, plenty of shade, easy to park if driving.
Had a picnic in the park and offered a stunning sunset. Great place for kids or intimate picnic evening.

They've really cleaned this park up recently. Nice flowers. No garbage. Still some loitering groups that look shady, so I wouldn't leave anything unattended or stay beyond dusk.

The grass is well maintained and very beautiful. It has a good playground for children to come and play with family. The parking space is good enough.

Beautiful park. Well maintained. Geese and ducks. Ponds. Fountain. Love it and visit it every time I'm in Vernon or traveling through.

On the plus side this park is located close to Hwy 97 and is easy to find. Most sites are large, private, level and have a view of the lake and valley. There are lots of birds and marmots to watch from your campsite. There is a modern playground near the lake, hiking trails through the grasslands and along the shore an old railway has been converted to a level, wide, gravel trail. What at first appear to be pit toilets are actually flush toilets with sinks. There are good docks and a good boat launch. On the negative side this park is on a hill side, has only one shower house, and lower level sites may be flooded in early spring. All but 4 sites have no power, water or sewer. There are 4 sites with electricity which are the worse sites in the park. They are small, with no privacy, a shared fire-pit, and flooded in spring. The power hook ups are on a shared post between sites. The beach is just a small backwater with a rock trail difficult for parents with strollers to navigate.

This is an unreal campsite. The sites on the upper tiers have fantastic views if you dont mind walking a little further to the washrooms or beach area. The showers and washrooms are always super clean and tidy with electricity for your razor or blow dryer etc. Sites are always well kept and the bushes and trees provide good privacy and spacing between sites. Lots of water stations and garbage/recycling areas. Ice is available for purchase on site as well as firewood. The lake is absolutely pristine with NO weeds and some of the most crystal clear water I've seen in BC. The shore is also perfectly clean with rock instead of sand but the stones are all very small and are great for laying a beach mat down on or a low chair for the water. This campground is one we have come back to over the last 11 years and is still our favorite spot hands down.

Great camping in the desert. Quiet campground, respectful campers. Staff very friendly. Pet friendly. Gorgeous Kal lake!
Lots of little field mice running around in the long grass and bush areas, you rarely see them. Watch for bull and rattle snakes if going on a hike. Lots of deer around.
Playground is situated near the day use area which is a really beautiful space. Picnic area is on green grass and overlooking the lake. Playground is pretty big as well.
Boat launch area kind of sucks because it's such a busy lake. Huge parking lot but even that was packed full.
Bathrooms have flush toilets even in the outhouses. The main bathroom building has a toilet stall and a few shower stalls as well.

Good location at the boat launch ramp and less than 10 minutes from downtown Vernon. The camp sites are spacious and separated enough to have a little privacy, but only some of them have shade. Gravel pads are basically impossible to drive tent pegs, but that's typical. Some sites have lake views. The bathrooms have flushing toilets and hot water showers. There is some noise from the highway just up the hill, more so at the upper sites. You might want earplugs if sleeping in a tent. The beach is rocky but ok if you have waterproof shoes. The rail trail along the lake is right there and excellent for walking, biking, or running.

Water is blue, have mainly 2 shades to it, light and dark blue, absolutely mesmerizing and the place is serene. Sometimes it also have shades of green. It has plenty of parking space and boat launch area. You can also spot people fishing. The water is crystal clear and you can view submerged or underwater plants. Its not an ordinary lake with a sandy beach. It's rocky with no sand, so do take chairs with you if you want to sit and relax. There is biking trail all along. Can also spot poison ivy in the area. All in all a beautiful location and a must visit.

Local honey and stop from our 5 days Rockies tour.
Wonderful and knowledgeable staff, they have a tasting bar with all their honeys to try before you buy..
I always want to buy Fireweed Honey whenever I see it as it’s hard to move the hives close to it. They have it here.
Also found some Dandelion Honey which is great for liver cleansing.. I add it to my Dandelion tea.. and it’s so tasty!
Tried and purchase the Buckwheat honey which is helpful for my mother in law that soothe her throat and tastes great.
They also sell Royal Jelly, etc. and they do ship.
We didn’t have the Mead tasting for the tour group, I would have bought some if we can taste it while we were there. When I asked, they said they were not taste testing the mead.
Nice local farm, washroom is outside around the building.

Visited while on a tour, I found the place small and quaint but very informative and had a lot of honey products ranging from Royal Jelly to Creams, Balms and Soaps. They have this Maple 'n Honey flavoured honey that's really good so give that a try if you ever come by! I myself bought a medium jar of it as a souvenir for a friend.
Their farm seemed small and we weren't really given much information on the farm size and production etc - More to the general info of the honey bees and comparisons here and there. We were the only group there so it was quiet and there was space to move around.
The staff were generally friendly and attentive to questions. Only spent about less than an hour there so it's a short stop to purchase canadian honey goods.

Loved this place! Aside from browsing all bee related products, they have over 20 kinds of honey for sampling as well as honey wine/mead. There is an indoor glass bee hive observatory which is a must see. We signed up for the 12 o'clock "All about bees" presentation and we were completely fascinated by the bees and what they do. James is such a great presenter and kept us engaged throughout the presentation. The place occasionally gets tour buses and it can be busy. But the staff are not about selling bee products at all. They are so knowledgeable and patient to answer any questions. We will definitely be back to this place.

Fantastic place to "bee" in Vernon! They have a small interpretive center, a decent sized store with lots of bee products, and a wine/mead tasting corner.
One of the amazing things at this location is that you can actually sample so many different kinds of honey. This makes it super easy when you want to buy a specific kind of honey!
The staff at this location is super friendly and helpful!
You can see the bees inside the store as well as several hives outside.
"Bee" kind to the bees, always, and enjoy your time at the bee farm with your family! Highly recommended!

If you have kids this is a cool place to visit. They have activities for the kids. Their garden is just little niches surrounding the parking lot. There are bee hives around so bee aware lol 😆 the gift shop is definitely the highlight. They have everything from honey, tea, kit hen items, gifts etc. There is also a free meal tasting and a tasting area for the various flavors of honey they make. There is an indoor hive as well that you can see the hive and the girls working hard. See if you can spot the queen!
