Loved our first visit here and we will definitely return to spend more time wandering around especially visiting the House.
We stopped off on our way back up the M4 heading to Surrey on Monday the 11th of November Remembrance Day
It was a pure chance visit and as we walked into the walled garden to have a look around we were greeted very warmly by a Couple of Ladies who handed us the order of service it was then that we realised that they were holding a Remembrance day Service
The Garden lawn border area had been completely taken over by memorial crosses from the British Legion as can be seen from the photos
The Top area had memorial crosses with the years and photos of the dead attached
We stayed for the service and it was a very humbling experience when sharing it with all the immaculately behaved young school children especially when they were reciting the poem about the reason why a mother was wearing a poppy.
The respect that the children showed during the silence and the playing of the last post was truly humbling and for us a joy to be invited to take part in.
Having attended many remembrance day parades and services throughout the years this one will never be surpassed especially when we didn't have a clue that it was happening..
Our heartfelt thanks for the invite and allowing us to pay our respect for all the war dead go to the Ministers and the Priest plus the School Children.
A memory created by chance and never to be forgotten..
In addition to what we experienced we also had the pleasure of meeting a gentleman who was paying his respects to the fallen and to his Grandfather who was killed at the Somme whilst serving his Country in the
Kings Own Scottish Borderers.

We visited the house, walled garden, church and had lunch and an ice cream at the coach house cafe. We didn't realise there is a smaller car park near the house so parked in the main car park next to the children's play park - none of the parking machines were working. The Coach House Cafe has a bog standard menu - sandwiches, jacket potatoes etc - but nicely done and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There's outdoor seating on both sides of the building - bench seating - and both sides are wheelchair accessible. The house museum is all on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. There are accessible loos in the house, in the Coach House Cafe and by the children's play park (but these were very grotty). The walled garden is wheelchair accessible and clearly an early summer garden as there was very little in flower when we visited in early August but they had a great collection of apple trees. It's not a kitchen walled garden - instead there are flowers and apple trees around 4 lawns. The church is wheelchair accessible but you can't get everywhere - just up and down the main aisle. The children's play park and the nearby cafe are understandably very busy and noisy, but the area near the house etc is much quieter and calmer.

Points to note:
• Parking is adequate at best, so please make sure you have plenty of time to look for a place. But wardens are very nice and helped us with directions to Event after we parked the car.
• A lovely Easter Egg Trail event. Lovely staff, pleasant atmosphere and great guided start. The clear weather made it one of the best things to do for Easter Sunday in a long while. Trail took us to all around the Park, kids filled in the provided egg hints paper and was very well worth it.
• The House museum is highly recommended, the rooms and the button-operated commentary was a good educational experience for all.
• The little Tea Room next to Trail was pretty cramped and was told only when I reached the counter that there was a further 20 minutes delay, and that was after a 20 minute wait in the queue, so I recommend to bring with you some drinks/snacks for kids.
• Kids play area in the middle of the Country Park is well equipped for young children.
Definitely recommend you to visit it, but please do plan ahead and give ample time for parking if driving here.

Lydiard Park offers a charming escape, with expansive grounds that come alive in the summer months as families gather for picnics under the sun. A tranquil lake graces the landscape, though it’s more ornamental than inviting for swimming. The Lydiard House Museum, while splendid in its preserved elegance, had only a handful of rooms open during my visit, which made the experience feel somewhat limited. Similarly, the beautifully maintained walled garden, though delightful, may not fully justify its modest entrance fee. Practical amenities such as ample paid parking, clean toilets, and an on-site café make the visit convenient, and the presence of a historic church and a fenced paddock with ponies adds to the park’s pastoral charm. All in all, Lydiard Park is a lovely place to while away a few peaceful hours.

This is a wonderful park area to suit all kinds of needs, from children, to adults to small or big groups. It is also good for those with mobility probmms as it has wide flat paths. I liked that you can book a bbq on the large field, stroll to the lake, play on the fields or playground. Or even visit the museum. The parking is ample but I walked through a lovely forested memorial garden to get to the park and left by foot a different way. Well worth the visit. The cafe and ice cream were good. There’s also toilets… a bit old but clean and functioning.
Dogs have to be kept on a leash, and cannot go into food premises. But they do sell dog treats. The ice cream shop was very reasonably priced, delicious and value for money.
My dog had a good day! Also the @Artpass gets you into the museum for free!

I took my children there for a touch of nostalgia and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they enjoyed it, just as much as I did! The staff were really friendly and helpful, everything was clean and the pricing was extremely fair. I would strongly recommend to anybody who fancies a spot of indoor fun - appropriate for any age, ideally over 5 years old.

Game price is good £16 unlimited games and lunch included. However, food and drink menu prices are too inflated. There IS free WiFi, if 500kbs is considered a connection...
If you don't play back to back games it can get quite boring and any entertainment during that time is expensive, very expensive.

Had a fantastic time today two games of laser quest and then the new clue HQ live Escape game really good fun. Highly recommended for families and would be great for staff team building too. Brilliant staff with excellent customer service. 10 out of 10 👍

Lovely little skate park, usually full of friendly faces. Something free and easy to do in swindon.
