The last day in Santorini I chose one of the most talked about restaurants on the internet Pelican Kipos To be honest I would pass by all the days I stayed in Fira But I wanted to save it for my last night as a surprise The service was very good 👍 After I was seated The staff saw me taking pictures I was also welcome to do any photography I also got a lot of material photos for this This made me feel very comfortable
While I was ordering - the waiter was very attentive to every dish I asked for and brought out the ingredients from the kitchen I was amazed It was so confident and welcoming
In the end I chose the Squid grilled or fried The squid was very well done It was juicy and fresh - plus the skin was crispy It was definitely one of the best squid dishes I've ever had!
I also made a special Sea food Linguine I replaced the seafood with a whole lobster 🦞 and wanted to make it a white sauce And I wanted to make the pasta with white sauce The service staff really took care of every problem for me ❤️ When I took my first bite of the lobster It was really fresh You can feel it directly from the taste And its aroma exploded! It was perfect 😍!
Here comes the best part! When the lobster pasta was on my table The chef turned the white sauce into a red sauce pasta When I questioned it The waiter immediately replaced it with a new one - and kept up the good service No hesitation at all Pelican Kipos does a great job of dealing with the feelings of all their customers You can't argue with that
It was definitely the best night in Santorini I think it was all very nice Including the price I think it's cheap too - most people are...
Read moreWe hosted our wedding reception for 27 guests at Pelican Kipos in September 2024. Our vision was for the evening to feel like an intimate family dinner and Pelican went far beyond that. It became the true highlight of our wedding and something we will remember for the rest of our lives. We began planning a year in advance with the incredible support of Eleftheria, who managed every detail with care and precision. When we visited the restaurant the day before, we were stunned by its beauty, originality, and charm. Exploring the underground wine caves was an unforgettable surprise that added even more magic to the experience. On the night of our reception, the wonderful sommelier Maria embraced us like family. Having lost my parents a few years ago, I hadn’t realized how much I needed that warmth in this day; she touched not only me, but every one of our guests, all on her day off. Her presence was a gift we’ll never forget. The entire staff went above and beyond, adding thoughtful touches throughout the evening—even making our cake cutting a special moment we’ll always treasure. While our ceremony took place at Rocabella (with photography by Phosart), we chose to hold our reception at Pelican Kipos, and it was the best decision we could have made. Rocabella felt formal and rigid, while Pelican Kipos was alive with warmth, beauty, and soul. Meeting the restaurant owner and hearing the story of the garden’s creation was the perfect finishing touch. Pelican Kipos is a true paradise, and we cannot recommend it highly enough for an intimate and unforgettable celebration. We’re already dreaming of the...
Read moreAmazing place. We went there 3 times during our visit. The food is great, service is amazing, and they have an incredible wine cellar downstairs for you to visit if you kindly ask the owner.
We went there both for lunch and dinner, and had all sorts of plates which I'll go through right now:
Baked eggplant with feta cheese: typical dish, super creamy and tasty. Definitely a must try. Fava: mashed beans with onions and capers. Capers in Greece are different to what we are used to, they taste better here. Tomato Balls: typical from Santorini. They were just the right size, crunchy, and with lots of flavors. Greek salad: Can't go wrong with this one. Souvlaki: Huge plate, with pork. The meat was really well prepared, and the vegetables are super fresh. Fried Naxos Cheese: it's a salty cheese, and it's great with a little bit of pita bread. Red Snapper: fished the same day, super fresh with a nice simple sauce on top. Waffle with yogurt, honey and walnuts: while this isn't traditional at all (and I wasn't expecting much to be honest) it was probably the best dessert we've had in Greece. The yogurt is amazing, and the waffle is abundantly covered in it and topped with walnuts.
Finally, we got to do a Wine tasting in the cellar downstairs for 15 € per person. We tried traditional Santorini wine (assyrtiko) with good bread and cheese, and they explained everything ranging from the history of the grapes all the way to the harvesting and aging.
If you go to Santorini, make sure to swing by this restaurant and...
