Jay's Sports Lounge — Restaurant in Stafford

Our first visit and we loved it. Great happy hour menu of drinks and apps. So many great options on the menu we had a difficult time selecting. We got the pretzels and beer cheese as an appetizer, which was fantastic. We watched them bring out the nachos for another table and it was huge, we have already picked the nachos for our next visit. As for entree.. we picked the “Reuben” and the “American Dip”. I must say I’ve never had a Reuben with so much meat... amazing. The American Dip was a grilled cheese sandwich piled high with different cheeses, it came with a tomato bisque for dipping...... WOW! Both came with a side of fries. Lots of food!!

The GM (Tom) stopped by to check in on us and was very pleasant and friendly. We did question the “round up” to a quarter policy on the check and he explained it helps speed up the service at the bar. Obviously, a max round up of 24 cents should not be an issue if you are treating yourself to a dinner out, but I am old school, so i think it’s a weird policy. For us it was 20 cents, but we were also told they donate to charities. I’ve heard merchants are trying to eliminate pennies, I don’t like it, but I guess I will have to get use to it.

Definitely was very disappointed when I were here last night. Originally I came with excitement to see how the new spot would be. Let’s start with it was very empty on a Saturday night. So my issues should not have happened. First I ordered a sunrise drink I believe is what is was called. My drink had several little flies in them which was not hard to see I asked the server you didn’t take a look at this before bring it to me it’s lots of bugs floating around on top. She said oh sorry. We went to order food which was only like 7 options of things to pick from. The wings were GROSSSSS like how do you make wings with normal sauce a mess up smh! Then my fries were hot but so soggy. My friend prefers a pot sandwich she brung him only meat 🤦‍♀️ She apologize Nd gets the right order . BOOM He gets the sandwich and it’s like a kids size sandwich FOR 15$ 🧐which was not good at all no flavor just overall everything was nasty Nd I will not be back. Oh let’s not forget they don’t have Hennessy remy, or ciroc. And they don’t plan on ordering any she said it makes the crowd to “violent “ . If you ask me alcohol is alcohol!!! We stay at the hooked on Best Western, on our way up North. This place is convenient when you don’t want to get back in the car. We ate here last year and it was fine. We were a little nervous after the recent reviews, this year. But there’s really not much else in walking distance. We walked in and were promptly greeted by the friendliest bartender, that told us to sit where we like. The bar was pretty full of people and she seemed to be the only one working. So they may be short staffed. We chose a table as we’re a family of 4, and she came right over. We put our drinks in and were told they’re out of French fries, we were fine with that. Drinks were good, food ended up being good, and the manager was rushing all over helping the girl at the bar get the orders out. His name was “Broadway”, I’m almost certain he said. He was really friendly, hard working and gave us great advice on how to get out of the area in the morning to avoid grid lock traffic. We were happy we gave them a chance and we’ll be back...
