Tivari Restaurant — Restaurant in Bashkia Durrës

!!!Tourist trap!!! We have been there, got ignored from the staff for nearly 1h, while locals got served immediately! The food was extremely basic, nothing special, half cold and the fries were saggy. The rudest thing beside having been ignored for most of the time was the payment at the bar (we had to go there, because they again did't come to us to receive the payment). They charged us 250 Lek for a drink, but I clearly saw the sign in the fridge, where the price was 170 Lek. Firstly the service guy told me it was for the water under the soft drinks, but that didn't make any sense, because on every shelf board there was the same price. Then he told us its because the prices rose, I wanted to know why they didn't change the prices in the frigde then, so he told me its not his problem, the manager is responsible. So he lied to us twice and suddendly there have been several workers around us. Now, they had time to come and look, but not, because they wanted to help, only to get the cash. We payed and left, but can only warn anyone who wants to go there: AVOID THIS RESTAURANT, THERE ARE MANY BETTER, CHEAPER AND ESPECIALLY FRIENDLIER RESTAURANTS...

I was here with my family and the location and food are the only reason I gave 3 stars. In regard to the service, it was nonexistent, the staff seemed uninterested and not client friendly, especially the girl with short brown hair. She came to cover our table without even greeting us, smiling or whatever is necessary when you work within the service industry. She seemed to hate being there tbh and all of the staff just walked back and forth without eye contact so we had to ask multiple staff to get drinks.

Overall, we had to search for eye contact every time for drinks and wait 10 min to receive it, when it’s supposed to be that they come at your table and ask if they can be of service. Also when we ordered the drinks, we saw them at the bar while the staff did too but wasn't in the mood to serve them. At some point the barman himself came and brought the drinks.. Unprofessional to the max and unacceptable!

Lastly, after they cleaned our table, they didn’t even ask how the meal was or if we needed anything else.

Really bad service and atmosphere overall!...

📍 Lunch by the Sea – A Mixed Experience Today I had lunch at a spacious seaside restaurant with a modern, casual vibe and a large terrace shaded by umbrellas. The setting was lively and welcoming, with a mix of tourists and locals that gave it a pleasant energy. The menu offered a wide range of Italian-style dishes—seafood, meat, pasta, and more. Portions were generous, but the flavors didn’t quite live up to expectations. There’s definitely room for improvement in the kitchen. Service was the weakest point: long wait times, missing napkins and condiments, and staff rushing around without clear coordination. I wasn’t the only one noticing—several guests had to get up and ask about their food. The restroom, located near the kitchen, was not clean, lacked towels, and had a very strong odor. 💰 On the bright side, prices are fair—around €15 for a seafood starter, pasta, focaccia, and a glass of wine. Despite the flaws, I won’t judge based on one visit. I’ll return and see if things improve. Every place deserves a...
