Unfortunately, we were tempted by their solid prop work to lure people in. We sat at a table and wanted to change since we were sitting full in the sun, they helped us out with that. The food was not expensive and quite tasty. The service was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, however, the reason for their friendliness is not sincere. At least we think so. At the end our lunch it was time to pay. We were reminded several times that the tip is not included in the price. We wanted to pay without a tip since the food was disappointing. Again it was said that you could give 5, 10 or 20%. We did not want to give too much since they were so pushy and the food was not very good. We decided to give around 8% since we then got a nice round amount and then we were not treated as kindly as in the beginning by those oh so good men who wanted to ogle you in. A little bye, disappointed and angry look was our goodbye. In short, go here if you want to tip nicely in advance...
Read moreThe restaurant is nice and the service was good. House wine for 200 is a great deal. My wife got chicken breast with tzatziki and really enjoyed it.
I was feeling ambitious and ordered the mix meat platter. It came with lamb ribs, chicken wings, and pork ribs. I was excited to try some variety of meat here in Albania.
However, I was disappointed when I actually got the meal. I received one lamb rib, and there was probably about .00005 gram of meat on it. I basically received a bone. There were 2 pork ribs on the platter with a bit more meat. Most of the pork ribs were fat and inedible. I know pork ribs come with some fat, and I am okay with that. But when 80% of the rib is pure fat, I don’t think it should be served. The chicken wings were fine and they were the majority of the dish.
So, basically, I paid 1300 for chicken wings. As a budget conscious traveler (I’m traveling for 5 months), it stinks to pay more for a good meal only to be...
Read moreTo avoid, seriously! We ate at a grill, so we expected at least decent meat… but it was a complete disaster. Every piece was half burnt, blackened on the edges, with an overpowering burnt taste. On top of that, it was dry—extremely dry—full of fat, and there was barely any actual meat: lots of bone, very thin cuts, honestly zero enjoyment.
We also tried the Caesar salad with curry (yes, already a strange idea), and the moussaka… and it was far from a success. The moussaka looked more like a block of flan-style béchamel with a layer of potatoes, and barely any meat inside. It was clumsy, unrefined, and poorly executed.
The worst part of it all is that when we kindly pointed out at the end that the meat was overcooked and too dry, the waiter looked down on us, rolled his eyes, and said nothing. No apology, no acknowledgment, just contempt.
Unprofessional, bad food, and not a trace of respect. Clearly not...
