Oh what a wonderful, beautiful hotel in stunning surroundings. This little gem was the place I'd looked forward to the most on my tour of Southern Albania and it didn't disappoint! It was outstanding!||Quaint, lovely rustic rooms with sweet wooden window shutters. The windows bring in a fresh, welcome breeze. I honestly fell in love with this hotel!||The bathroom was sweet! Small, but adequate and lovely fittings. The bedroom was plenty big enough to sleep in! I loved it! This is history! Beautiful. The bedroom ceiling was gorgeous. I was so comfortable that I wanted to stay awake to enjoy it, but it was so relaxing, I fell asleep! ||Do NOT make the mistake of driving all the way up to the hotel! There is a car park!!! I made that mistake and the hire car fell out with me. The very kind man at Klea Hotel came to the rescue. Literally!||Meals were outstanding, both dinner and breakfast. The house red wine was so good, I wished I'd ordered a litre! ||It was nice to NOT have a TV. Views from the windows were so beautiful. ||I've never been so sad to leave a hotel. I want to go back to the beauty, welcoming family and friendliness.||Very highly recommended! Oh wait, let me tell you about the lovely man from Hotel Klea. When I got into trouble with my car, he jumped in and drove it to safety. He absolutely refused a tip! He speaks of pride and love for his family. His mum is a real gem and her cooking is...
Read moreMy son’s twelve year old review ||Room and decor|The accommodation was superb, it had |a comfortable bed because it had a cosy fleece duvet and a large shower with hot water!||I think it also had very nice castle themed decoration! It made you feel like you were in a castle. ||Location|Outside the hotel was old castle ruins and some small markets selling clothes. it was great to look around.||The hotel/castle was located on a massive hill, to get there it was a hill walk and was quite difficult but definitely worth it. It’s only 800M but is quite a steep hill. On the way there were lots of alleyways leading to shops and restaurants. ||Food|I thought it was amazing and dinner and breakfast were very tasty. I adored the hot chocolate and scrambled eggs the best, it was very filling.||Recommendations|The nougat dessert was frozen and had a very nice plum sauce. The owner made it himself and has been making it for 25 years. The stuffed vine leaves normally I don’t like the vine leaves but i actually loved them and highly recommend both of them!||Tips |Bring grippy shoes and sporty clothes as there are some very...
Read moreAbsolute perfection! Ksenofon and his family are the warmest most welcoming hosts. The location is excellent, right inside the castle and the rooms are beautiful. The food is incredible! You wouldn’t guess by the number of food pictures I’m posting, we were only there for a day, but we could not get enough. The food is prepared by Kseno’s grandmother and mother. They serve warm bread with homemade olive oil, there was delicious homemade jam with breakfast and we got free dessert with ever meal, a speciality of Berat called MonBlan, which you must try. They have great house wine and the best qofte and speca të mbushura. The attention to detail and hospitality was incredible, from the absolute warmth of the family down to the beautiful cutlery holder. I could go on and on. Unfortunately we only stayed a day, but it was the most wonderful day! Despite being in the middle of a busy lunch shift, the whole family took time to say goodbye when we left. We felt loved and fell in love with them. They only have a few rooms, so even if you don’t manage to stay here, definitely go...
