We were starving when we first arrived into Berat on a Sunday, but unfortunately this restaurant didn’t open until 7pm that night. We did end up coming back a few hours later, and it smelt so good when we walked in! Staff were lovely in this traditional, family-run restaurant, and indeed the most smiley in the town we had encountered until then. My chicken meal was unfortunately a tad bland, but my husband’s beef was “excellent” (it was very fresh and we were very hungry!). Definitely give this place a try.

An absolutely amazing experience with wonderful traditional food. The prices were extremely reasonable for the portions and the taste of the food. My parents could not stop saying how delicious everything was. We were the only ones to have walked in and eaten at the place at the time which was a shock given how good it was. The price of the lamb was 800 lek for half a kg which is super cheap and it tasted really good. Will definitely go again, server also spoke above average English and was really friendly.

I wish I could give this place more than five stars. We have been driving around all of Albania for the last week and this is the best food we have had thus far, hands down. The 3 of us ordered doubles of everything and ate it all. Definitely eat here. The service was great and they were very friendly. Also some of the best red wine we have had in weeks. Can’t recommend it enough. Shumë shumë e mirë.

In contrast to other reviewers, our experience was extremely unpleasant in this place unfortunately. The owner was extremely unfriendly and rude. I went there with my elderly parents during our trip in Albania. After we are seated we could not immidiately order food because we first wanted to know what is what. my father was trying to ask a question about a dish in the menu while the guy was behind my back.communication was not easy as he did not speak english. But instead of giving us a few minutes to decide he started to be loud and mad. Restaurant was not full or busy at all. There was one table dining and one table just ginished. My parents got intimidated and we had to leave. We are a Turkish family obviously without a North-Western look. So if you are as such i am sure you will have no problem. But otherwise...

One of the best experiences we have had in Albania. Delightful service, delicious food, lovely location and very reasonable prices. This is a family restaurant which might look initially more like a bar but don't be fooled. We were served by the charming son, with excellent English, while his parents manned the grills with great skill. The menu is short and all the food we ordered was superb; served generously and clearly prepared with so much love. I rarely bother to write reviews but we loved this place so much that I just had to. They don't serve dessert but we're happy to let us munch on bought-in sweets while we finished our wine. Oh and even their WiFi...

“ELVI ~ Traditional Food & Grill” is one of the best places to enjoy authentic traditional grill in Berat. The prices are very reasonable and affordable, while the food is simply fantastic – fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection with a true traditional taste. The staff is extremely polite and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Service is both high-quality and very fast, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.
