Friendly House offers a mixed experience that warrants a 3-star rating. While the establishment may have some positive aspects, there are significant drawbacks that affect the overall customer experience.
One major inconvenience is the lack of card payment options. In today's digital age, not accepting card payments can be a significant drawback for many customers, limiting convenience and potentially deterring those who prefer cashless transactions.
The service at Friendly House leaves much to be desired. It appears to be uncoordinated, leading to very long wait times for customers. This lack of efficiency can be frustrating, especially for those with limited time or those expecting a smooth dining experience.
Despite these issues, the name "Friendly House" suggests that the staff might be amiable, which could somewhat offset the service inefficiencies. However, friendliness alone cannot fully compensate for long wait times and disorganization.
The food quality and ambiance are not mentioned, which could indicate that they are average or unremarkable.
While Friendly House may have potential, the combination of payment limitations and service issues significantly impacts the overall experience. Improvements in these areas, particularly accepting card payments and streamlining service, would greatly enhance customer satisfaction.
For now, visitors should be prepared for potential waits and remember to bring cash. Those who value quick service or prefer card payments might want to consider other...

She then disappeared for 5 minutes and upon her return she had a big handful of small coins (10s & 20s) as my change which should have totaled 1750. She basically dumped them on the table and said she was sorry and had trouble finding change.
I felt that something was off, so instead of just pocketing the coins and walking off like a trusting tourist, I spent the time to count the change. It only totaled 750, so i was shortchanged 1000 lek!
I then went to find the waitress to ask about the missing change. When I told her she immediately pulled 2 x 500 lek paper bills out of her money belt, apologized briefly and walked away.
So why did she have to disappear and bring me all these small coins when her money belt was full of paper bills?...and then to shortchange me 1000 lek hoping I wouldn't' take the time to count all those small coins?
I think she could be called the Berat Burglar! Beware the tourist coin trick they play...

We had heard good things about the place from our friends and wanted to check this place out for ourselves.
It was dinner rush, and all the staff were busy, which was understandable. But when it came to getting a table, we got different responses from 3 different people we asked. When we were finally seated, no one had come to attend to us and we weren't given menus until I finally got up and took it from the service counter myself. There is a serious point I want to address regarding the service, but I would like to do it in private.
Right when we were considering going to some place else, in comes Marilda, who changed up the experience for us. She was warm, energetic, and light hearted, which made our day much better. She took good care of our group and we enjoyed our time at Friendly House. She was the one who made it a friendly house.
My favorite dishes from the night were the Spring Rolls, Stuffed Mushrooms, and...
