This recently Michelin star restaurant is aiming for international acclaim but the execution was off for our meal. I am comparing this meal to those I've had Tickets, Enigma in Spain and Alinea in Chicago & Atelier Creen, so not just the best in Argentina, not just the best using modern techniques but the best in the world. The chef reaches for that like few are doing in Argentina but it's the technique not the flavours or inspiration that lets him down. The flavour profiles do lean to the sweet side like many Argentine cuisine but they also we subtle more like Nordic and modernist European. The best dishes were the ones rooted in Argentine ingredients & flavours but with the acidity and textural contrasts that elevated them. I've eaten many 15 plus course meals and honestly the biggest pacing issues were they not serving ANYONE cause one macho douche was a half hour late. They didn't service every dish in unity so they should have penalized him the dishes and served the rest of the single night's guest time. As for the dishes they were all one or two bites, with lots of modernist technique like agar pearls, reductions and transform with different textures or presentation. The problem was some of them didn't work, a pearl that was hard rather with liquid inside. A hot liquid that was hot enough to melt the two thick layer of chocolate. Simpley put the technical level wasn't consistent. Then there was the time issue. The meal was suppose to start at 8:45. It was 9:30 before food was served and 1AM when we left. The last dish was served at a little after 12 and then we could not pay the bill. Most of the staff all left the dining room and the one left was dealing with a problem table who disputed the bill. The total for us was 250USD which is in keeping with the level of food they are attempting to make. I think they succeeded 80 percent of the time and if I had never been to the restaurants they are aspiring to it would have been 90 percent. Also weirdly they let people bring a baby! The dining room is small, traditional and there is one seating per night. If you want a modernist Michelin starred meal in Argentina this is a good option just know what you are...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with elegant decor that prepares you for what's to come. The real star of the show was the food. The tasting menu was a total marvel, every dish I tried was delicious, accompanied by a well-selected harmony of Argentine wines.
The quality of the ingredients was clearly of the highest quality, and you could tell the work that went into the culinary techniques and attention to detail. In addition, the dishes were beautifully presented, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
The staff was friendly and helpful, making sure all my needs were met throughout the entire dinner. I felt very well taken care of and valued.
Congratulations to A Fuego Fuerte. We will be back and we recommend it. It's an experience with a different concept of awakening and...
Read moreThis place has a very bad management team that should be replaced before it costs the restaurant more than a bad review. They canceled not 1 but TWO of my reservations within a week's time. First time they said it was a power issue, Okay I understand. Then they contact me directly offering other dates to rebook. I choose one of those dates to rebook and book through their website. Then they contact me again saying "sorry, the chef won't be here that day he has an event. It's not our fault it was the systems..." except their management were the ones that directly texted me that date as an option for pre-booking. This place should absolutely not be in the Michelin guide with this kind of bad management. I hope they hire some better...
