Be Hollywood — Hotel in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights first week of June 2023. Although location is great, noises coming from the street make it impossible to sleep at night, specially on weekends. I was ok with that giving location was my priority but to add to these 7 sleepless nights, the hotel has a building currently under construction and the very loud noises start at 7am. Literally our room was shaking and it seemed like the walls were falling apart. EVERY MORNING. I understand the hotel has no control of this, but a courtesy heads up would have been nice. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay. This is definitely not the right place! Noone communicated with us to inform us that this was the case ahead of time to allow us to make an informed decision whether we wanted to go for it or not. They were aware of this construction when we book it, Also, when trying to get another room or any solution from management, we received the round around and NO response, no apology, no follow up. The did not care. Their front desk staff have the “I hate my job” attitude, and they took no ownership of the issue. Bed are super small, they look like kids size. This little spot in Palermo Hollywood neighborhood is an absolute gem! It's on a street with great restaurants, cafes, & TONS OF BARS... and is only a few blocks from an outdoor shopping center w/north american stores in case you forgot something. It's also in walking distance to Palermo Soho, another trendy neighborhood with tons of chic boutiques and cafes. Our room was very clean, modern and updated (universal outlet plug) and had a private terrace with a sunbed! The complimentary breakfast was delicious-- and even included made-to-order omelets as well as an assortment of pastries, yogurts, fresh fruits, cheeses, teas and true Argentine coffee!! However, what makes this hotel so memorable is the staff, especially Eddie, who is SO accommodating and knowledgable of things to do not only in the neighborhood but all over Buenos Aires. He booked us an exclusive Tango show with personal transportation which was awesome! He also held our bags for a few days while we traveled to Mendoza for wine touring. As we visited other neighborhoods, we realized more and more how lucky we were to have stayed where we did since traffic can be crazy in Buenos Aires. Für denjenigen, bei dem Palermo innerhalb von Buenos Aires das eigentliche Reiseziel ist, ist das Hotel wirklich prima gelegen, im Viertel "Palermo Hollywood", in einer Parallelstr. vom Juan B. Justo (Hauptverkehrsstr.), Ecke Honduras x Humboldt. Die Auswahl wunderbarer Restaurants und Cafés in dieser Gegend ist schier unerschöpflich und man hat zumindest subjektiv auch nachts ein hervorragendes Sicherheitsgefühl.||||Das relativ kleine Hotel ist sympathisch aufgemacht im Boutique-Stil. Die Zimmer sind sauber, jedoch sind Kleinigkeiten auszusetzen:||||Es gibt trotz des Preises keine Badewanne, einen Haartrockner sucht man ebenfalls vergebens. Das kleine Bad besteht auch Toilette, Bidet und Dusche; das Waschbecken ist aus Platzgründen im Wohnbereich.||||Ich hatte extra ein Zimmer mit Terrasse gebucht, eine Mehrausgabe, die sich weitgehend als unnötig herausstellte: Die Terrasse ist zwar genügend groß, befindet sich jedoch im ersten Stock (darunter sind andere Hotelräume) und ist direkt von Wänden umgeben. Einen Ausblick sucht man vergebens. Ich hatte eigentlich gehofft, hier die Nächte gemütlich ausklingen zu lassen, was aber kaum möglich ist, denn kurioserweise gibt es keine Außenbeleuchtung auf der Terrasse. Andererseits gibt es auch keinen Sonnenschutz, so daß man tagsüber auch eher der Terrasse fernbleibt.||||Auch ein Blick ins Internet von der Terrasse macht nicht viel Sinn: Der WLAN-Empfang - im Zimmer schon schlecht - ist auf der Terrasse wirklich lausig. Man muss hierzu sagen, dass in BA eigentlich 3 von 4 Cafés kostenlosen Internetzugang bieten und diese Stadt im Prinzip sehr gut "online" ist. Das Internet ist also unter "Buenos Aires"-Standard.||||Der Gemeinschaftsbereich auf der Dachterrasse des Hotels ist in Realität kleiner, als es auf den Fotos aussieht. Er ist nett, aber es gibt dort niemanden, der einen bedient.||||Von einem proaktiven Service kann man auch im Bereich Frühstück nicht sprechen. Ich habe mir an mehreren Tagen - durch das Personal ungerührt beobachtet - das saubere Geschirr von den anderen Tischen zusammensammeln müssen. An der Rezeption beobachtete man dies und rief an der Theke an; das Personal war aber in der Küche und machte nicht die geringsten Anstalten, die Anrufe des Chefs entgegenzunehmen.||||Andererseits zeigte sich das Rezeptionspersonal sehr hilfreich, druckte mir z.B. zwei Bordkarten aus und rief einen verlässlichen Taxidienst.||||Von anderen Bewertern wurde das Thema Lärm erwähnt: Ich kann zu denjenigen Zimmern, die zur Straße hin liegen, nichts sagen: Mein Zimmer lag zum Hof hin. Dennoch machten die Klimaanlagen (der anderen Zimmer/im Außenbereich/Abluft) dort einen erheblichen Radau; auch ist das Hotel ziemlich hellhörig, d.h. man bekommt fast alles mit, was auf dem Flur und in den anderen Zimmern passiert. Ich persönlich kann bei einer solchen Lärmkulisse gut schlafen; für lärmempfindliche Gäste ist dies aber definitiv nichts.||||Die vielen Kritikpunkte, die ich aufgezählt habe, sollen nicht verhehlen, dass ich mich insgesamt dennoch durch und durch wohl gefühlt habe. Das liebevoll im Boutique-Stil eingerichtete Hotel ist nicht perfekt, das Personal ist es auch nicht. Beides ist aber irgendwie sehr nett und liebenswert. In solchen Hotels steige ich lieber ab, als in perfekten lieblosen Bunkern irgendwelcher Hotelketten.
