Casa Cavia is a super chill cafe and restaurant in Palermo, Buenos Aires that has it all - incredible food, amazing outdoor ambience, no wait in line, and friendly staff that spoke English 👍. As soon as we walked in, the host greeted us with a smile and showed us to a table in their beautiful outdoor garden area 🌳. The weather was slightly chilly at 60 degrees F, so sitting outside under the trees and vines was fine with a coat on and the blanket they had at each table. The garden looks like it can be in a Vogue shoot.
I started off with cocktails and I got the Mieda which is whiskey based. It was fragrant and floral with citrus notes and tasted really well balanced 🍸. For appetizers I got the salad 🥗 and homemade bread 🥖. The salad was light and delicious and the bread was still warm from the oven, perfect for dipping in quality olive oil.
Even though I was already quite full, I couldn’t pass up dessert. I had their chocolate dessert, which if you're a chocolate person you should 100% not pass up. To finish, I got a latte made with high quality local espresso.
Overall, Casa Cavia checked all the boxes for a memorable meal in Buenos Aires. The ambience, service, cocktails and food were all on point. And the fact that there was no wait and they spoke English was a big plus. If you're looking for a chill place with outdoor space in Palermo, you really can't go wrong with Casa Cavia! I will definitely be back next time I'm in...
Read moreWe can't rave enough about Casa Cavia! From the amazingly talented staff, including Chef Eduardo who is a rockstar, Gero, the incredibly knowledgeable and passionate sommelier-to-be, our wonderful and lovely server Emilia, to the charming young lady who always greets us with a genuine smile, everything is what a classy, chic restaurant should be without being the least bit pretentious. The food is executed with so much attention to detail and innovation that flavors meld together deliciously that you might not expect, such as the "hoja de arroz" made with a rice paper foundation and layers of herbs and mushrooms and peanut vinaigrette and fish on a bed of creamy burrata topped with cauliflower florets. And of course the steak, better than any other we've had in town. Not to be ignored is the most brilliant Bloody Mary made with a clarified tomato juice infused with a few secret ingredients -- I order mine super spicy! It is light and refreshing, and you can't have just one! We have become regulars Casa Cavia for all the reasons mentioned above. They have earned five stars from my husband and I on all counts! The photo below is the "hojas de arroz"...
Read moreGreat service, delicious food, and truly wonderful atmosphere! This is a delightful, peaceful spot to stop for merienda. The rest of the menu looked very creative and enticing, as well, so I'll have to go back for a full meal. The prices are relatively high but seemed commensurate with the great quality food and experience as a whole. The staff was extremely friendly, warm, and welcoming. Highly recommended!
EDIT: I went back for a light lunch, and I was absolutely blown away by what I ordered! The liláceas, vieiras tostadas y ajo blanco (a starter that I ordered for my main meal), was an explosion of freshness and deep flavor! I don't remember the last time I had a dish that truly made my mouth water just thinking about it. The individual ingredients were of excellent quality and were exquisitely prepared. I had the panna cotta de jengibre con cítricos y cedrón for dessert, which was wonderfully light and not too sweet with perfectly balanced flavors. The staff was, again, absolutely wonderful. What a...
