COCINA PARAISO RECOLETA
Cocina Paraiso located in Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires owned by Donato de Santis who famously features on Master Chef Argentina Given his background, Chef Donatos striking concept has made this establishment to be on the culinary map and become one of Recoleta’s favourites. At least mine. I went into Cocina Paraiso Recoleta without too many preconceptions about Chef Donatos cooking beyond some vague notions that it showed off Italian products. This vague notion turned out to be correct as the seasonal menu was focused mostly on products from various regions of Italy with outstanding freshly hand rolled pastas, meat, and most of the vegetables sourced locally. Despite the restriction on province and the limitations of the Buenos Aires climate, I found the ingredients to still be of very high quality. The effort the restaurant put into sourcing is evident. The cooking at Cocina Paraiso was technically correct. The impeccable and knowledgable service of IVAN, LILIA, RODRIGO makes this place welcoming, a good dining destination Cocina Paraiso offers a “classic Italian” menu with its most famous dishes at a reasonable price averting 3 courses at $22 USD. Their menu seem to be tough choice as everything reads well and balanced. I went seasonal on my visit as a few dishes sounded more appealing than their classic counterparts and I thought they would have more interesting flavors. The wine by the glass list was quite lengthy and reasonably priced with the majority around $4 USD by the glass. A glass of espumone I had to start in company of a refreshing Aperol Spritzer. My first course were the pulpitos and a crusty grilled bread. Delicious and well balanced. The highlight of my lunch was the Cappellacci di Zucca all mantovana, a silky smooth capellacci with sweet potato and ricotta, sage butter sauce. Outstanding delicate pasta. My dessert was an incredible spumonne de chocolate.

Los desayunos también son altamente recomendados, proporcionando el comienzo perfecto para cualquier día con una variedad de opciones deliciosas y satisfactorias.
Sin embargo, no todo es perfecto. La elección musical del lugar, con un estilo de música italiana que se suma a la configuración inadecuada de los parlantes en la vereda, careciendo de medios y graves adecuados, puede resultar poco agradable para algunos comensales, llegando a ser una molestia para quienes esperan una experiencia auditiva a la altura del entorno y la comida.
Cucina Paraíso Recoleta no es solo un restaurante, es un destino que promete una experiencia que invita a ser repetida. Ya sea por su ambiente tranquilo y refinado, su personal amable y atento, o su excepcional cocina, este lugar asegura que querrás volver una y otra vez, aunque quizás con la esperanza de que la ambientación musical mejore para complementar de manera más armoniosa la atmósfera del restaurante.
