Lulu, TA Tajo & I strolled over in 2 minutes on a perfect night from our great AirBnB on Lafinur. Lulu & Tajo were a bit under the weather but still game. We sat outside & our great server Johana took great care of us!! Thanks! Superb homemade breads, crispy flatbread, & bread sticks with virgin olive oil & balsamic was whisked to our table. Tajo got spagett with superb Bolognese & beautifully presented... the sauce in his own tiny crock adorned with fresh basil leaves (Top quality noodles if ever so slightly underdone.) The fetuccini Puttanesca was arguably our favorite entree. Perfectly sauced with capers,tomatoes anchovy etc A 3 hour braise of ribeye (with terrific buttery small spuds) was a bit stringy & dry... could have been superb if they used short rib, shank, oxtail or chunk needed the collagen & intramuscular fat from the bone-in tough cuts of beef. The Caprese salad's tomatoes of TA's were underwhelming and the Ceasar we shared with "smoked trout?" needed some acid.... we got some lemon slices from Johana which did the trick. Only at the end of our meal (& after Lulu & Tajo exited) did TA discover a mini pitcher of delicate aioli which we juiced up with our other lemon slice & dipped the rest of our bread sticks & swirled them in the savory grated crock of Reggiano Parmesan....what a game ending treat! his G&T was perfect as well as my glass of malbec a mainly...
Read moreThere is a small and cozy place in Palermo that takes no reservations, but it is totally worth to visit, it has the most delicious pastas that I have tried in BA, the specialty are the stuffed ravioli and sorrentini, I can recommend the pumpkin and mushrooms ones, then you choose a sauce type to go with them, there is no mistake on any sauce, but try the mushroom cream it goes marvelous with anything.
