I have to admit they prepare nice coffee, but the attention is really bad and the staff is rude to say the least. Yesterday I was there with a friend and it took ten minutes for someone to approach us. When I told her we already knew what we wanted, she throwed the menu on the counter and said she’d be right back. Ten more minutes later another person took the order. When I finally got my latte it was barely warm. And them the best part of the journey: when I told the waitress my coffee was not hot she answered “I will warm it for you, but the next time please let us know in advance you want your latte hot because this is the way we serve it”. This is a first for me: a coffee place that serves the latte barely warm and expects me to request it hot. The staff’s attitude is completely arrogant and it seems they are doing you a favor by bringing anything to your table. I also notice that they are some regular clients that know the staff well and it seems like they are the ones that receive a fine service. So here is my recommendation: if you are not a regular at Birkin, do yourself (you might also be doing a favor to their staff) and go somewhere else. Read moreGreat vibe. Lovely morning jazz fills the room. Attractive and Attentive service. Clean table and utensils.... but it goes down from there. Had a good chia bowl with mango puree and toasted coconut- sloppy plating . Ordered a SIMIT with great anticipation as Ive been to Turkey a lot and it was stale a seemed microwaved. Ordered a cafe con leche and it arrived COLD. I enjoyed hot Ginger lemon tea came with a glass tea pot w metal strainer really wanted it to as good as it seems as it's tremendously popular. Stick to fresh toasted bread and baked goods. Tables around us enjoyed their nice looking pancakes and avocado toast, egg white omelette ... the wifi password is funny. Ask how to spell such a simple word! For that $3000 ARS brekkie, try other...
Read moreBirkin is a lovely cafe. There is a solid variety of bakery treats, including very typically Argentinian shortbread and dulce de leche alfajores, a great key like pie, and croissants. The coffee is also very good. Birkin has a very family-oriented atmosphere and nice decor with plenty of plants that give the place a natural vibe. The service staff could be a bit more attentive to the needs of customers, though. We had to flag them down to receive service. They also forgot our sugar and brought us the wrong pie (we had asked for a pie with pistachio crumbles on the top, but we just kept the key lime pie which was brought out). Overall, it was a nice choice for a calm and tasty...
