I don't know what other people are ordering to have these amazing tender spoon cut steaks. I wish they would mention that in their reviews. I was watching and did not see these spoon cutting take place at anyone elses table either. Do not order the full plates with sides! I got the chorizo(ribeye) with malbec sauce and sweet potato mash and a bottle of 2019 Zapata Malbec. The steak was good, but definitely not cuttable with a spoon by any stretch. There is better steaks for less money nearby. I was a little worried about the sweet potato mash, and even though it's not orange sweet potatoes, they are more mild, it's still a very starchy mouth coating that does not pair well with the meat or wine that I chose. The wine was definitely not stored properly or past it's prime or both. It tasted pretty good at first, but I brought half the bottle home and a couple hours later it had already fallen off and was astringent, they are stored right there, and it's very hot in the summer here. The service I experienced was good overall, professional and attentive. They had huge fans going since their AC system is not adequate, since I was alone I was seated right in the fans path and it was blowing my hair all over the place to the point of being bothersome so I kept my hat on the entire meal, very classy. I saw several other people bothered by the fans and asking to be seated elsewhere, but there was no escape. Eat on the sidewalk if you must. But really, for the price, go somewhere else. Tomahawk and La Dorita were both much better. I would skip this place if you are looking for an exceptional meal at a decent price. You can go to some much better restaurants for about the same price or just slightly more that are a true 5 star...
Read moreI don’t typically leave reviews and always try to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, but what I experienced today was unlike anything I have ever experienced at a restaurant before.
To start, I ordered a bottle of wine.. they didn’t have it. No problem, I’ll just order another. Also didn’t have it. So I figured my third try they would… Also no. After being offered a 40k bottle instead of the 24k bottle I was looking at, I just decided not to drink wine. No big deal.
The food arrives… VERY DISAPPOINTED in the quality of the steak. We ordered an ojo de bife and honestly one of the least flavorful and least tender pieces of meat I have had in Argentina. (I have lived in Argentina for 2 years) Don’t waste your time. There are a ton of better places in the area!
To top everything off I was handed a card earlier in the day by one of the waitresses that mentioned 15% off if paid with cash. Most parrillas offer 10% off if paid in cash so I didn’t think much of it. When the bill came there was no discount offered. I told the waiter we were paying in cash and they came back and asked me for the card. I was never told nor does it mention on the card to BRING the card in for redemption. They refused to offer the discount and my wife had to walk 5 blocks to go get the card. I mean come on… REALLY? Terrible experience and sadly was my last parrilla before leaving Argentina. Save yourself the trouble and go...
Read moreWe were 4 for dinner and it was overall a very good experience because the service was excellent and the staff was professional and friendly.
We were offered a complimentary glass of champagne as soon as we got seated, and not long after a plate of salami and bread was also served.
Our server was very attentive and even went to get a colleague that could speak English since 3 of us are from Canada, however my partner is from Buenos Aires, so we told them it was ok to order en Spanish.
We be only ordered 2 appetizers to share: a benito provoleta and the other was the blue cheese provoleta, and both were excellent! Since I am not a big eater and even less when it comes to meat, we ordered the parilla for two which was perfect for the 4 of us! For people with a bigger appetite and/or true carnivore then it would be ok to order the parilla for 4. We were lucky because my partner’s sister and husband went there a couple days before us and they told us to watch out for what we prder because the portions are very generous which was the case.
We also got a bottle of Malbec to pair with our proteins. Needless to say that we had no room for dessert! Although there is a good selection of sweet items on the menu.
Worth the detour if you are looking for a cosy place, not pretentious to have a...
