The Night Market is awesome, and one of my favorite 'regular' places to go in this neighborhood for dinner! I've only tried the 'Beef Noodles' and the Pad Thai, but both are solidly decent dishes (though, not as good as the expensive food from Sunae). I would highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for a hearty Asian meal and don't feel like spending 30% more to go to Sunae.
So, why only 4 stars?
There are few little things that keep this from being the 'perfect' place, and I admit, I am nitpicking here.
First, there are only maybe 5 or 6 items on their menu. This means if you live in the neighborhood, you're going to get bored of eating the same thing all the time after a few weeks. I mentioned this about a week ago to them, and they responded by adding two new dishes, the Pad Thai, and another dish I haven't tried yet. That is AWESOME! So, I am grateful that they are trying to add new things to the menu. I realize too that the more variety you have, the more fresh ingredients you have to have on hand (and throw away if they aren't eaten). This means higher operating costs. They also increased the prices overnight by 25% due to 'inflation'. At first I was actually annoyed by this, since it was my favorite place to go when I didn't want 'expensive' food. After eating the Pad Thai though, I felt 'okay' about the price. To be honest, it's edging up to California prices. In California, you can get a plate of Thai noodles for about $15 USD, but, you get twice as much food as you do here, and there is a much wider variety of vegetables and other flavorful ingredients, so the Pad Thai here is not actually a 'good value' anymore. In my mind, it is a fair price, but I'm sure that locals will find this to be 'expensive' compared to what they're used to.
Overall, I love this place, and will definitely come back, but it's trying to become another 'trendy' place like Sunae, as opposed to a hidden gem with value-priced food. Only time will tell how this strategy will play out for them. I would humbly recommend that if they want to go this route, that they find ways to add new menu items using the same ingredients they have on hand, to reduce costs. Or, if they want to compete with Sunae, then they need to have a wider variety of produce and options without raising the price more than another 10%. The easiest way is to add more 'noodle dishes' which can be quickly stir-fried in a Wok. These are quick to make, and delicious. They could have 'curry noodles with choice of meat', 'black pepper noodles with onions and chilis', etc. Honestly, this is what I want when I go out for Asian street-food. I want noodles, with sauce, meat, and vegetables, and by simply changing the sauce, you can have 6 or 7 different dishes using almost the same ingredients. They could even offer the choice of fried rice or noodles to increase variety. I worked at a noodle house for awhile, so I know this is a good strategy that will keep people coming back to try 'new' dishes.
Everyone here is super friendly, and many of the staff speak English, which is helpful. My only suggestion here is that if they only speak Spanish, just speak SLOWLY :) Some of your English speaking customers, like me, would LIKE to try to speak Spanish, but we need your help and your patience, please.

Read moreThe Night Market is really such a great concept for Asian Restaurant and Asian food. The ambient was really good and made me felt like I'm in Asia again. However, we ate Thai food (Pad Thai and Pad See Ew). The taste for both of them was not somewhere near the real Thai food. (as I'm Thai, so I can tell) and the chef seem like she wasn't happy with her job. When the waitress came to serve our food, I thought that they cooked the same thing which is Pad Thai but it's not. I asked her the differences, she said that it's the same just that Pad Thai is with chicken and Pad see ew is a veggie option (aka no meat). I do understand that the restaurant might adapt the menu and taste according to the costumers but for me, it's not the authentic. They use the same type of noodle for Pad Thai and Pad See Ew (actually the noodle for Pad See Ew is smaller or bigger depends on the place but will never be the same size as Pad Thai as it's unique on its own). All in all, the Night Market is great but they might need to improve the taste of Thai food and...
Read moreLast week I was FINALLY able to visit @TheNightMarket.ba 🍜🥟🍶 A little over 1 month ago while I was walking through Palermo Hollywood, this place caught my attention. You see, the colors, the exterior and the amount of people that were there, instantly make your head spin and makes you want to go there. We arrived at the place around 9:30 pm but we didn't have a reservation. Kindly, a guy (who happened to be the owner of the place) who was at the entrance explained to us that the place was full but if we liked, he could take our info and have a table available in 30min. We accepted and while we waited for the time to come, we went to get to know a little more about the neighborhood. When we returned, we were immediately enchanted with the place; It is literally a mini Asian Market in the heart of Palermo Hollywood. Among the food options, they offer: Korean🇰🇷, Chinese🇨🇳, Japanese🇯🇵, Thai🇹🇭 and Taiwanese🇹🇼. Definitely a different experience, the food was incredible, and the attention more than excellent! Total amount...
